An American supermodel born to Jordanian-American father Mohamed Hadid and Dutch-American model Yolanda Hadid has deep middle eastern roots within the paternal family. Her famous supermodel sister Gigi Hadid has starred on the cover of Vogue thirty-five times excluding other magazine covers.
The model herself has starred on the cover of Vogue twenty-seven times. Bella talked about how everyone was calling out for her reserved behaviour as a teenager, unlike her older sister Gigi. She said, ‘when everyone keeps talking about this how you are this is what you are, you don’t consider it an opinion but rather as a fault within you. I considered myself as uglier sister.’
She said she never dared to talk about her problems of depression, social anxiety and Lyme disease which she faced since adolescence to any of her colleagues or friends in years. After being in the fashion industry for 7 years she knows how to carry a neutral facial expression. She calls it ‘armour and shield’ demeanour which protects her from interrogating faces.
Bella Hadid also talks about a backstage experience at Saint Laurent show where she couldn’t zip up her dress and the rest of the people not thinking about the dress being a little small but about her frame being a little too big.
She also shared multiple selfies of her sobbing, tearful on Instagram sharing her encounter with social anxiety and depression also quoting that, ‘social media isn’t real.’ The supermodel was captured wearing Maison Margiela Artisanal designed by John Galliano draped top and jeans for cover and photographed by Ethan James Green.
