In an event in London, Rahul Gandhi stated that the Bharatiya Janata party likes to believe that they will be in power in India “eternally” and well that is not the case as the opposition parties will come together to take over the “repair work” that is required for the Indian democracy.

Rahul Gandhi also mentioned the fact that they were in power for ten years before BJP came and now the ruling party tends to assume that it will be like that forever however the congress leader does not think so.
He emphasised the political developments, from independence until now and mentioned that the Congress party has been in strength for the vast majority of the time.
Congress has been extremely focused on the rural space and dropped the ball on the urban space early on. “Those things exist. But to say that the BJP is in power and the Congress is out is a ridiculous notion” Rahul stated.

The Bharatiya Janta Party dismissed Rahul Gandhi’s claim that he was being spied on, claiming that the Congress leader is “hallucinating” and tends to make such claims to grab the media’s attention.
In his Chatham House speech, Rahul also attacked the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) as a fundamentalist, fascist organisation that has changed the nature of India’s democratic contest by seizing the nation’s institutions.
Rahul was astounded at how impactful they have been in seizing our country’s various organizations. The media, the judicial system, Legislature, and the Electoral System are all under attack, threatened, and managed in some way.
When Rahul Gandhi was questioned about dynastic politics as a hindrance to Indian democracy by an immigrant community and educational audience at the event, he dismissed it as a factor and criticised “structural” issues way beyond dynastic politics as a threat.
On India-Pakistan connections, the Opposition Leader made it clear that it is essential to maintain positive relations with all neighbouring countries, but that it is dependent on Pakistani actions.
Although Mr Gandhi also said that If Pakistanis promote terrorist activity in India, the relations become extremely difficult.
