Gujarat Legislative Assembly Election Result 2022 Live Updates
The BJP appeared to be headed for a record victory as the counting continued, surpassing the 150-member threshold in the 182-member Assembly
The Congress did not see a better performance this time, failing to build on the gains it had made in the 2017 elections while the AAP has made significant gains in the Patidar and tribal seats.
The AAP, which triumphed in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi elections on December 7 is the story aside from the BJP’s surge. The party is leading in more than 10 seats in its first election there, according to early trends. If the trends are confirmed by the results, the AAP would score a major victory because Gujarat offers a fertile ground for growth as a viable alternative to the Congress, which has lost the support of the electorate.
The leads coming out of Gujarat also imply that the AAP is benefiting from the Congress’s missteps and splintering its base of support, even though it is still unable to win over minorities and tribal. These two groups continue to be anomalies in the general BJP support wave.
Exit polls indicate a large BJP majority in Gujarat; Himachal is closely contested.
Exit polls released by television networks after the final round of voting in Gujarat on Monday show that the BJP is likely to win big in Gujarat, where it has been in power for almost 25 years and is only slightly ahead of the Congress in Himachal Pradesh. The vote to tally will happen on December 8.
Perhaps the most significant election for AAP‘s gains has been the one in Gujarat.

The assembly election in Gujarat is taking place tomorrow, and the results will be announced on December 8. I traveled there last week to cover the election. This election in Gujarat is primarily about the Aam Aadmi Party if elections are not just about the short-term results but also long-term political stirrings and shifts on the ground.
The party born in Delhi won Punjab at the beginning of this year in the elections held in February. Whatever the year’s final statistics reveal, it has now made its presence in Gujarat known. In my conversations with voters in the three regions I visited—South Gujarat, Saurashtra, and North Gujarat—I noticed that the AAP was actively campaigning in every town and village.
