Once again, serious accusations have been leveled at the BJP by Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, who notes that the party offered him a “deal” to spare the two AAP politicians under investigation, but only if AAP backs out of the upcoming Gujarat elections.
The claim has been made by the Delhi CM at NDTV town hall, adding that BJP did so as the party is afraid of losing the municipal polls of Delhi as well as Gujarat elections.
Manish Sisodia and Satyendar Jain are the two AAP leaders who are being probed by the Central agencies in the excise case. AAP leader then revealed after Manish Sisodia refused the BJP’s offer, they now looked at him with a deal.
Kejriwal stated, “After Manish Sisodia denied their offer to be Delhi Chief Minister by leaving AAP, they have now approached me, they have said if you leave Gujarat and do not contest there, we will spare both Satyendar Jain & Sisodia and drop all charges against them”.
Although he turned the question around when being asked to reveal the name and said he could not name “one of his own” and that the BJP approached him “indirectly,”
“How can I name one of my own?” The offer has come through them, seeing as they never approached directly. “They go from one to another—to another—to another, to a friend, and then the message finally reaches you,” said Kejriwal.
Not only this, but the Delhi CM has also accused BJP of making “fabricated” cases against his party members, Sisodia and Jain.
Kejriwal optimistic about Gujarat polls
The politician seemed to be reasonably confident about winning next month’s Gujarat elections, adding that his party is already running for second place before Congress and after the BJP. “AAP will surely surpass the leading party in one month to form its government in Gujarat,” CM Kejriwal said confidently.
He then predicted that in the 182-member assembly, Congress would get fewer than five seats.
But do the polls and people work on politicians’ predictions? I guess we all know the answer.
AAP today announced the other candidates for the Gujarat elections in 2022. The list is as below –
Gujarat elections date
The elections in the state will take place in two phases. December 1 will see voters from phase 1 and phase 2 polls on December 5. The results of the votes and the result will be declared on December 8.
The result announcement day is similar to that of Himachal Pradesh, but the voting dates are different. The issue that has been raised by many political experts and people seeking answers from the election commission, is why the election dates are not the same.
AAP’s face for Gujarat CM
The party is counting on journalist-turned-politician Sudan Gadhvi in the upcoming Gujarat elections, making him the face of the Aam Aadmi Party. Gadhvi joined hands with the party in June of this year in Ahmedabad.
Bhupendar Patel – BJP’s CM face
On the other hand, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) said it will be contesting the Gujarat elections under Bhupendra Patel’s leadership and is hopeful to win them. Union Home Minister Amit Shah notes that if the party wins, then Patel will remain as Chief Minister of the state.
In a recent conversation with ABP news media outlet, on being asked if Prime Minister Narendra Modi will take part in the election rallies, Shah replied, “Elections are being conducted under the leadership of Bhupendra bhai & BJP will seek votes in the name of him only. The people of Gujarat will vote as per the work done by Bhupendra Patel & make him win. Then what is the point of – bringing a change?”.
