BLACKPINK new song “Pink Venom” brings back Jisoo, Jennie, Rose, and Lisa after almost 2 years.
The Blackpink girls are without a doubt one of the most loved and admired K-pop entertainment teams in the world right now, and all four girls have been doing great work for quite some time to become a crowd favorite. All four of them are adored by a large number of people all over the world, which is why, whenever they release a new solo song or group video, the fans’ happiness and excitement are literally at an all-time high.
Blackpink officially pre-released the track “PINK VENOM” and its music video on August 19 at 8:30 am IST ahead of their much-anticipated comeback album, “BORN PINK,” due out in September.
“PINK VENOM” is a hip-hop genre track that combines BLACKPINK’s distinct charisma with the sound of traditional Korean instruments. The song can already captivate music fans’ ears with its strong beats, not to mention the sleek rap and powerful vocals from the members throughout the song.
Blackpink’s visuals and skills stood out in the MV. It’s evident that the members underlined their opposing images of “PINK” and “VENOM.”
Furthermore, BLACKPINK would be incomplete without promoting Korean culture. Thus, the beauty of “geomungo” and “sundial,” two traditional Korean instruments, is something to look forward to.
The music video also revealed BLACKPINK’s true identity, which is “confidence.”
Given that the MV represents YG Entertainment’s most expensive production to date, K-pop fans applauded the company’s efforts to provide the group with a high-quality comeback video.
Blackpink held a press conference at 6:30 a.m. IST on the same day and streamed it live online ahead of the official release. During the press conference, the four members expressed their excitement for their return after a year and ten months away.
Jisoo stated:
“We’re finally back, and I’m excited and happy to welcome you with new music.”
Jennie also emphasised:
“We greet you with ‘PINK VENOM,’ and we’re back with great music as much as you have waited for it, so please look forward to it.”
Despite the fact that the group as a whole took a break, Rosé and Lisa released solo songs, and Jisoo has been focusing on her personal activities, including her acting debut. As a result, Blackpink admitted that they missed the members while working separately.
Rosé stated:
“As a solo artist, I noticed a lot of empty spaces among the members. So I think its fun to discuss something, make decisions, and have friends with me. I said hello and got to work more quickly.”
Lisa confirmed this, adding:
“I was fairly similar to Rosé. Working as a solo artist was enjoyable, but I felt very empty when I moved or was in the waiting room (without the members). I genuinely love you. We are, as expected, BLACKPINK.”
During the press conference, the members also discussed their new song. Jennie explained why they chose to release “PINK VENOM” first, stating:
“Reversal’ was said to be the team’s charm from the moment we debuted as Blackpink. We want to make it chewy, so ‘PINK VENOM’ is the first song to be released, but I believe it may be a song showcasing Blackpink.”
Following the pre-release, Blackpink will release their second full-length album, “BORN PINK,” on September 16th. This will be followed by a world tour starting on October 15, making stops in North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia, with more dates to be announced, and will last until October 2024.
On August 17, Blackpink demonstrated their global impact when pre-order sales for the album reached 1.5 million copies in a week, setting a new record.
