Shiv Kumar Subramaniam passed away in Mumbai. The reason for his demise is as yet unclear. Just two months ago he lost his only son to a brain tumor.
Shiv Kumar Subramaniam began his journey in the film by composing the screenplay of Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s Parinda in 1989. Later he was additionally credited as the author of other movies like 1942: A Love Story, Is Raat Ki Subah Nahin, Arjun Pandit, Chameli, Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi, and Teen Patti. Subramaniam won Filmfare grants for Best Story and Best Screenplay for Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi and Parinda individually.
Shiv Kumar Subramaniam later wandered into doing supporting jobs onscreen as well. He showed up in films like 2 States, Nail Polish, Rocky Handsome, Hichki, Happy Journey, Risk, Prahaar, Ungli, Bangistan, Kaminey, Stanley Ka Dabba and that’s only the tip of the iceberg.
The entire Bollywood industry has been in pain after hearing about the loss. Hansal Mehta issued a public notice on social media. The announcement gave the information about the funeral, which will be held in the city on Monday morning.
The statement declared Shiv Subramaniam’s death and stated, “With profound and heartfelt grief, we wish to inform you of the passing of one of the most dignified and noble souls to inhabit human form – our dearest Shiv Subrahmanyam. Incredibly talented, he was much loved and revered personally as well as professionally.”
