Boycott Amazon is trending on various social media platforms including Twitter, after a backlash against the organization on the 20th of august 2022.Â
A memorandum was filed against the artist by Hindu right-wing organizations in Subramanya Nagar police station in Bengaluru. But, the complaint revolves around the incident of selling obscene paintings of Radhe Krishna on the day of the Hindu religious festival Janmashtami.
Also, the complaint states that the painting showcases disrespect towards Hindu sentiments. A complaint was lodged, leading to the removal of the art, because of the Amazon website.
But, the painting was also available on other e-commerce websites such as Exotic India, which sells home décor and exotic cultural artifacts of India. But, the artist stated an apology after the art, was taken down.
However, the Hindu right-wing organization is furious about the incident. Few religious citizens of India, who belong to this community are worried about the guidelines of amazon as this is not the first time #boycott amazon trending on Twitter for its consumer guidelines.Â

Amazon had a backlash in India after selling featured images of religious figures on toilet covers, doormats, and other products. Amazon stated an apology and introduced strict guidelines.
In 2020,
Amazon was boycotted again on Twitter for selling undergarments with religious gods printed on them. Because of this commotion, the social media users showed anger towards the same and later amazon stated an apology.
