Lee Minhyuk (HUTA) is back with his 2nd full-length solo album, ‘Boom’, and a music video after almost 3 years.
HUTA aka Lee Minhyuk, lead rapper of BTOB finally released his 2nd full-length solo album after 3 years. During the 3 years, Minhyuk served 2 years in the South Korean Army and BTOB had a full group comeback after everyone returned from the Army.
Minhyuk dropped ‘Boom’ on 27th June 2022. It is a full-length album containing 12 self-composed tracks. Changsub, another member of BTOB, appears on the album’s sixth track.
The tracks in the album are, I’m Rare; BOOM; Shadow; 넌 나의 봄이야; 그대가 모르게; 사랑일까요 Duet. 이창섭; 위험해; Real Game (Like Messi); 우리 함께 걸어요; Red Wine, 기다리고 있어, 끝 눈.
Huta previously stated that this album is more Huta than the first album, Hutazone. Some songs on the first album were intended for BTOB, but because they didn’t make it, he included them on his solo album, and now every song on Boom is solely for and by Huta.
With a visual noir tone, the boom music video unfolds dynamically. Both the scene’s intensity and uniqueness stood out as well as the sound. Featuring ninja-style dancers in dark leather jackets, Huta showing off his sculpted muscles, and a straight performance against an oriental door lit with red lights.
When asked if he felt he had grown musically, Huta replied: “my second LP will answer that.” “Boom is self-produced, and I’ve wanted to do that since the start. I proved my ability with my first solo album, and I wanted to put out an album that best suits Huta.” “My performance and music are different from three years ago. I think I was too young to express some things. It took me nearly a year to produce this album, with writing, recording, and arranging,” he added.
Lee Minhyuk’s solo BOOM is a work that explores his musical history and growth path, which has been most firmly anchored with his BTOB activities over the past ten years.
On the afternoon of the 27th, a press conference was held to commemorate the release of Minhyuk’s second full-length album “BOOM,” which was held at Blue Square Chaos Hall in Yongsan-gu, Seoul.
Boom was released less than 24 hours ago, and the song debuted at #1 on bugs, #1 on the worldwide iTunes chart, plus, #1 in 8 countries on the album chart, it surpassed Hutazone’s first day sales.
