K-pop sensation and the biggest boy band in the world BTS announces the lead single ‘Yet to Come’ from their upcoming anthology album Proof
Over the past few years, South-Korean boy group BTS (aka Bangtan Sonyeondan) has taken the music industry by storm. Record-breaking sales, sold-out concerts, luxurious brand deals, features on TIME magazine covers, UN ‘special presidential envoy’ appointment, Grammy nominations, and millions of fans across the globe have made them one of the most celebrated artists of all time.
On the last day of the Permission To Dance On Stage- Las Vegas concert BTS surprised the Armys with the announcement of their new upcoming album in June.
Ecstatic fans who avidly waited for a new album for almost two years since the release of their last album ‘BE’ in November 2020 have expressed their joy and delight as soon as the announcement was made.
Social media platforms were flooded with intriguing fan theories about the highly anticipated comeback album.
On May 4, BTS’ official YouTube channel released the comeback teaser reminiscing their previous albums and singles with their famous tagline “We Are Bulletproof”.
Through their official Weverse announcement BigHit Music stated “Proof” is an anthology album that consists of three CDs and includes many different tracks- including three all-new tracks- that reflect the thoughts and ideas of the members on the past, present, and the future of BTS.
On May 6, BigHit Music shared the schedule breakdown of the upcoming promotional activities of BTS and the poster of the lead Single ‘Yet To Come’ (The Most Beautiful Moment), looking back on the turning point of their career “The Most Beautiful Moment in Life [… yet to come]”.
Unquestionably, BTS’ increasing popularity has played a major role in the global influence of K-Pop. Each of the artists has broken at least 25 Guinness World Records spanning music, social media, entertainment awards, and cultural awards with Armys contributing to every new record-breaking adventure.
Several fans have noticed that the members of the group have hinted at the new anthology album through their Instagram posts when RM (Kim Namjoon) shared throwback pictures from his Hwa Yang Yeon Hwa (HYYH) series, also known as The Most Beautiful Moment in Life Trilogy.
Fans with their Holmes glasses on have also unearthed old video footage from various interviews in which BTS gave indirect hints that veteran Armys’ favourite HYYH era was coming back.
Following the announcement of the lead single, an old video of RM and Suga (Min Yoongi) began to resurface on Twitter, leading the fans to believe that BTS have planned their career way ahead of time.
The tracklist of the album is set to release on May 8, and the BTS admirers speculate as an anthology album, it may consist of demo versions of their favourite songs.
Eager fans will now have to wait until June 10, 2022 (9:30 a.m. IST) to discover what surprises our favourite Bangtan Boys have in store for us. Armys are positive that the new single will surpass the records set by Butter (2021) and Dynamite (2020). However, the promotion schedule does not mention anything specific about June 13, the 9th debut anniversary of BTS, rendering the entire fandom more curious and intrigued.
