World-famous K-pop band BTS took over the United Nations General assembly hall and grounds outside with their song Permission to dance on Monday.
Three years after last attending a United Nations General Assembly, the group returned to New York to participate in this year’s session as the special presidential envoy for future generations and culture.
At the tip of his speech, the seven South Korean musical act members attended their President Moon Jae-in, who introduced them as the “artist most loved by the world” at the tip of his speech.
He then handed over the dias to the seven members – RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook – who delivered their messages. Group leader R.M. (Kim Namjoon), taking centre stage, began in Korean, “It is an honor to be here today, where BTS has been appointed as Special Presidential Envoy for The Republic of Korea.
We’re here today to share the stories of a future generation. Before we came here, we asked the youngsters in their teens and 20s around the world regarding their past two years and regarding the world they find themselves in today.”
Their messages touched upon various subjects – from native weather change to vaccination towards Covid-19.
“A few of you heard the information that we’re coming to the United Nations and a variety of you have got been questioning whether or not currently we’ve got been vaccinated. And I’ll take this opportunity to mention certain, all seven people, in fact, we obtained vaccinations.

BTS began their Love Myself selling campaign with the UNICEF in 2017, which was the subject of their 1st speech on the United Nations, that R.M. had delivered in English.
