BTS member Suga surprised his fans after announcing his solo world tour during his live on 14 February 2024. The rapper, producer, and songwriter will be the first member of the BTS to embark on a solo world tour. The tour will start with two shows at the UBS Arena in Belmont Park, New York from 26 to 27 April and then Newark , Rosemont, Los Angeles, Oakland respectively with Oakland being the last gig in the US on May 16 and 17.
After touring the U.S, Suga will head to Indonesia, Thailand, and Singapore before returning to South Korea for two shows on June 24 and 25. As per the instagram post dates for Japan tour are to be announced soon.
While all seven members of BTS Jin, RM, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook including Suga announced last year that they would be taking some short time sabbatical to explore various solo projects while assuring fans that the band won’t be disbanding.
29- year old singer on work front co- wrote, produced and featured on the song “That That” for Psy which was released on April 29 ,2022 as the lead single from the Psy’s eighth studio album Psy 9th which was ranked 20th on Bilboard under the 25 best K-pop Songs of 2022. He was also announced as the brand ambassador for Valentino and the face of the Masion Valentino Essentials campaign for the brand’s menswear staples in January 2024.
While the tour announcement left the fans thrilled, reacting to the news, a fan wrote on twitter, “so proud of him. Tears of joy right now and shaking in fear coz the fight for those tickets will be insane.”. “I am crying and shaking I’m so proud of him. This is a lot to digest,” read a comment.
This will be the first concert by Suga as a soloist, with his last concert as a BTS member being the “Yet to come” in Busan, South Korea for the port city’s bid to host the World Expo in 2024 on 15 october 2022.
Tickets for the tour will go on sale to the general public on March 3. However, BTS Army Membership holders will have the first access to tickets during a pre- sale on March 1.
