Biden’s comment against Putin’s regime stirred the media ever since last weekend. The comment stated that Vladimir Putin “cannot remain in power”. The comment was made by Biden when he had gone to stand in support of the Ukrainians.
Several questions were raised with multiple claims about their comment by Biden. The reporters continued to interrogate him to know the actual context of the statement made by him.
USA’s President Joe Biden claimed that the comment made by him was purely in the context of “moral outrage”. He stated that he simply stood in protest of the decisions taken by Putin and the damage caused in return.
Furthermore, he also added that his statement in no way pointed toward any change in American Policy. “He should remain in power just like, you know, bad people shouldn’t continue to do bad things. But it doesn’t mean we have a fundamental policy to do anything to take Putin’s regime down in any way,”, clarified Biden, when pressed by the reporters to elaborate on his statement.
However, he continued to state that he will not issue any apologies regarding the comment passed by him. Biden held a stronghold on his stance against the Russian invasion of Ukraine. He particularly expressed his grief about the brutality and the civilian casualties that have occurred since the beginning of the war.
The US President has invoked many sanctions to further support his stance. Discussions are also set to take place between Biden and the leaders of France, Italy, Germany and the United Kingdom. The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday to draw consensus on the Russian invasion’s latest updates.
Additionally, Biden had also visited Europe for the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) summit. He met with European leaders to further discuss their response to the Russia-Ukraine War. The war has been going on for a month now.
In recent updates about the war, Air Force General Tod Wolters provided his statement on Tuesday at the Senate hearing. He stated that hypersonic missiles had been constantly launched by Russia on military targets of Ukraine. The launches seemed fairly specific to designated military targets.
