It is not a new allegation on BJP for misusing central agencies for its own benefits and scaring its opposition just to carry out political vendetta. But recent allegations have come from two major opposition political parties Shiv Sena and TMC (Trinamool Congress) that too with statements that say central agencies are now just as puppets for government.
ED (Enforcement Directorate) agency under limelight in these cases has however condemned the allegations on it and called it a general work and not to call it a politically motivated move.
Actually, allegations came when a close relative to Uddhav Thackeray, his brother-in-law Shridhar Madhav Patankar was targeted and got his 6.45cr property attached due to involvement in alleged Money Laundering case. Earlier this week Abhishek Banerjee (Leader of Trinamool Congress) was called before ED along with his wife for alleged involvement in Coal Scam.
How BJP effect central agencies and politics behind it
BJP and its so-called ally with central agencies are very infamous and is used against BJP time again by the opposition party. But if we look into past history and analyse it a bit though it’s true, most of the investigation and targeting done is for opposition leaders and party that too by ‘employing’ these central agencies.
But there have been cases in which even the government’s own leaders faced the allegations and these central agencies but still, it is a hidden truth that there have been these instances time and again by ruling party whether its BJP or any other political party. There was a recent allegation on same political parties i.e., Shiv Sena and TMC for misusing state agencies to carry out political vendetta and using them against opposition.
These allegations are like a loop that time and again come and always leave with asking same question that can this be stopped or changed and a simple answer we really can’t as its evident from fact and history that change is very far-fetched and this revolution can only be made either by ruling party or these agencies. And it is a serious issue to keep politics out of these agencies so they work without pressure and fairly.
But the reactions that came in return of the actions by ED are also very important because it shows a pattern of blame-game between political parties. Senior politician and Shiv Sena’s ally Sharad Pawar said, All the states that do not have BJP governments are facing this issue of political vendetta, yesterday Mamata Banerjee’s nephew was questioned by the ED.
He added that neither Bengal nor Maharashtra will bow this is a political retaliation for targeting the government here in states that do not have BJP in power. Five to ten years ago, no one knew what ED was now it’s just ED, ED. The abuse of central agencies that we’re seeing is not to be ignored because it is becoming a very serious problem.
Even TMC showed the same reaction, Abhishek Banerjee told to media that I have cooperated with ED without making excuses. These investigative bodies have functioned under the BJP’s dictatorship. They are using central agencies to scare opponents because they have failed to democratically undertake TMC.
