Had the public present at the Angallu village not intervened, Umapathy Reddy could have been brutally killed by the accused during the violence.
According to the reports, the violent clashes have occurred not just in Angallu but also in Punganur where almost 50 police personnel along with the supporters of both the parties got injured. 13 police officers among the injured have sustained more serious injuries.
