Chennai: The United States returned an old aged couple, Srikanth, 65, and his wife, Anuradha, 60, has come back to India after 10 months were murdered and looted by their driver and domestic help in Mylapore, Chennai. The driver has been said to be working for the family for the last twenty years.
The driver, Krishna, 45, along the with family’s domestic help, Ravi, 39, planned the murder of the couple months back after they had heard the conversation between them about the Rs. 40 crores cash the couple had gained after one of their land deals.
On May 7, the Chennai City Police received a complaint from the relatives that the couple went missing and can’t be found at their bungalow situated in Dwarka Colony at Brindavan Street in Mylapore.
Srikanth has worked as a reputable auditor in Gujarat while his children are doctors in the US.
Krishna and Ravi brutally thrashed the couple on the head after dropping them home from the Chennai airport at around 3 am. Both Srikanth and Anuradha died on the spot. They looted gold, diamond, and platinum ornaments from the safe. Along with this, they had robbed 60kg of silver biscuits, diamond, and platinum jewelry which allegedly cost around Rs. 8 crores. They then carried the deceased bodies to the couples’ farmhouse in Nemilicherry, Chennai, and buried them there. Later, it was revealed that the pit was dug ten days prior to this horrible incident.
When police officials reached the couple’s residence, they become alerted after seeing bloodstains on the floor and broken items in the house. Soon, a search operation has been started to arrest Krishna and Ravi, according to the registered complaint.
The Chennai police arrested the culprits when they were leaving for Andhra Pradesh. Their mobile numbers have been kept for surveillance immediately after the complaint was registered. They both have been arrested just six hours after filing the case. Krishna confessed his crime after the arrest.
The victim’s family has said that they had trusted Krishna because he was working for their family for the last two decades. Krishna was a resident of Nepal while Ravi hailed from Darjeeling.
