China will launch their second space module :
China is all set to launch its second module for the under-construction space station on 24th July. China needs 10 more module launches to complete its space station.
China will launch their second space module from the Wenchang spaceport on 24th July.
The second module is called Wentian and it will join Tianhe, the first module on the 24th of July.
The second module will be launched by a long march 5B heavy-lift rocket. Wentian weighs roughly around 22 tons. A 53.7meter long and 837.5 metric ton rocket will be used to launch Wentian into space from Wenchang Spaceport.
space module Wentian is almost the same size as Tianhe. Tianhe made some adjustments earlier in the month for the preparation for the attachment with Wentian.
SECOND SPACE MODULE WENTIAN :
Second space module Wentian features an airlock cabin and a crew quarter. The airlock cabin will become a new entry-exit point for extravehicular activities (EVAs).
The new crew quarter will perform the first handover to the crew. It will host 6 astronauts in December. Its main role is to become a place for hosting experiments and providing life support.
Wentian also comes with solar arrays which are 30 meters long. This will help in maintaining the power in the Space station.
This module is a very important part of the construction of China’s Space station. This module will complete the T-shaped space station which was planned by China. Though China can change it in future and they have said that they increase the module to 6 pr more in future.
This is not the first attempt by China to launch this module. They have tried and failed to control the re-entry of the rockets. Worlds’ eyes are on this whether China made some changes or not.
