Jagan Mohan Reddy forms a team maintaining the perfect balance between innovations and experience.
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy has revamped his cabinet halfway through his term as promised by him in June 2019, has reconstituted it now. The merely formed cabinet is a mixture of experienced and senior leaders as well as young faces, focusing on people-oriented governance. The young leaders are expected to bring in the innovative ideas and initiatives, while the expertise and experience of the seniors is already present on the table.
The revamping was planned focusing on giving opportunity to a greater number of people to be able to serve the people in the position of ministers. It was supposed to happen in December 2021, but because of the pandemic it was delayed. The earlier cabinet members handed over their resignations after serving for almost 34 months, allowing the chief minister to pick the new team.
To ensure the party’s victory in the 2024 assembly and general elections, the previous ministers are given responsibilities, keeping in mind their experience and expertise.
25 names were sent to Governor Biswabhusan Harichandan of which 17 names are from the Scheduled Caste and Tribe, minorities and backward classes. M Sucharita, State Home Minister, quit after being dropped from the cabinet, while 11 of her colleagues have retained their post in the new cabinet.
In the previous cabinet formed by Mr. Reddy, 56% of his ministers were from the Scheduled Caste and Tribes, Other Backward Caste and Minorities. 5 members from Scheduled Caste, 1 from Scheduled Tribe, 7 members from Other Backward Caste and 1 from Minority.
In the newly formed cabinet, 17-11 members are from Other Backward Caste, 5 from Scheduled Caste and 1 from Scheduled Tribe, increasing the percentage to 68 from 56.
The Chief Minister has focused on women representation as well by increasing the number of women cabinet member to 4, which was previously 3. R K Roja, popular film star, will be the one among the 4 women leaders in the newly formed cabinet.
The representation of the Scheduled Caste and Tribes, Other Backward Caste and Minorities and Women has always been unequaled in the governance of Jagan Mohan Reddy, and it has been the same in the newly formed cabinet.
The blend of young and experience ministers along with the representation of 68 per cent for minorities has sure set high hopes for the upcoming assembly and general elections 2024.
