The most anticipated collaboration between hip-hop legend and the world’s biggest band is finally happening. During the American Song Contest red carpet on Monday, he revealed that the collaboration is happening between himself and BTS.
Snoop Dogg tells The A.V Club, “The BTS experience you keep talking about. I’m going to let them tell you about it. It’s official, like a referee with a whistle. I love that entertainment world. It’s good music. It’s [a] vibe. I make good music. They make good music. And we end up doing this. This is what it’s always about, bringing our worlds together.”
BTS have been fans of Snoop for a long time, they even referenced Snoop’s 1993 album Doggystyle in their song “Hip Hop Phile’’ from their 2014 album Dark & Wild. According to BTS’s label, BigHit Music, the group is set to release a new album this year.
Snoop has also collaborated with various Korean artists, including Girls Generation, MONSTA X, and PSY.
BTS has collaborated with many well-known artists, including Lil Nas X, Megan Thee Stallion, Steve Aoki, Nicki Minaj, Lauv, and many more. A recent collaboration was between BTS and Coldplay “My Universe”.
BTS is all set to perform at the 64th Grammy Awards on April 3. They are also nominated for Best Pop Duo/ Group Performance for their mega-hit song “Butter.” Butter hit the number one spot on the US Billboard chart consecutively for 10 weeks. They will also continue their world tour “BTS Permission to Dance on Stage-Las Vegas”.
