Today, the 10th of March marks as a big day for the country this year as five states go through the process of Election vote count.
Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Goa and Manipur are the states with the ongoing vote count process respectively.
The counting of votes began today morning at around 8 am amid tight security arrangements at nearly 1200 counting centers across the five states.
The polling was conducted in seven phases in Uttar Pradesh, two phases in Manipur and one phase each in the other three states between February 10 and March 7.
BJP for the Win
Early trends show that the saffron party is on its way to win the election in 4 out of 5 states, leaving Punjab out of the list for AAP.
BJP is leading in over 260 seats in Uttar Pradesh and 40 seats in Uttarakhand.
Leads also show a neck-to-neck contest in Goa with the BJP pulling slightly ahead of Congress.
In the northeastern state of Manipur, BJP has taken a lead in over 20 seats, with incumbent CM N Biren Singh ahead in Heingang.
AAP Sweeps away the results in Punjab
In an unexpected turn of events, the Aam Aadmi Party is seen taking over the poll results in Punjab with a lead in over 80 constituencies.
People are saying that this will be a change of power for Punjab. Usually following the trends, one would believe that this change of power from congress will be brought about by BJP, but Punjab does not seem to be ready to accept the saffron party yet.
Instead of BJP or Congress, the state has decided to give their votes along with their trusts to the Aam Aadmi Party.
Seeing the results pouring in, Navjot Singh Sidhu, the state Congress Chief has tweeted that – the voice of people is the voice of God and he humbly accepts their decision, further congratulating AAP.
