TMC director Saket Gokhale seeks criminal contempt for OpIndia for allegedly insulting SC regarding oral remarks made in the Nupur Sharma case.
On July 1, former BJP spokesman Nupur Sharma went to the Supreme Court to save his life. All she wants is to have an FIR filed against her, so she won’t have to go from town to town to cooperate with the investigation against her. His argument? She received constant death and rape threats, and for security reasons, it would be dangerous for her to travel.
The investigation was not refused by her. She did not tell the Supreme Court to annul the FIR against her. She just wanted her life not to be in danger as part of the investigation.
The Supreme Court justices made shocking remarks in denying his request. She was mocked for being threatened when the judges asked her if she was threatened or had become a threat.
She was sarcastic when the judges commented ‘they have to roll out the red carpet for you’ with her lawyer saying she was cooperating with the investigation and worst of all the judges had kept ‘the Her loose tongue’ responsible for the decapitation of Kanhaiya Lal by the Muslims.
For supporting Nupur Sharma Kanhaiya Lal was beheaded, Why?
The Judges’ observations during the hearing of the case were not the subject of a written order making these observations their personal opinion and not the court’s opinion. Supreme Court – organization.
Critique the judge’s submissions, as they should. As an editor, I wrote an article in which I questioned the judges, asking them if they blamed the “loose tongues” of fellow judges for some threats made. received from the Muslims after giving judgment in some cases or not – Ram Janmabhoomi case, Hijab ruling, Gyanvapi case to name a few.
It should be noted that one of the judges who made the comments earlier called on the security services to not do enough when the judges received threats – the same judge who dismissed the threats. Nupur Sharma received it.
In another report, we wrote that the judges encouraged the Muslim elements. Our previous headline said that the Supreme Court spoke the “language” but once the observations were not made according to the written order, we had to change it and criticize the judges curtly. specifically, not the Supreme Court.
TMC leader Saket Gokhale, who took donations from unsuspecting Muslims to finance his lifestyle, was outraged.
Today, Saket Gokhale wrote a letter to the Attorney General of India, asking for a criminal contempt charge against OpIndia and me, as the editor of the platform and the author of the article, as we have degraded the majesty of the Supreme Court.
Saket Gokhale stated that he offended the Supreme Court and “distorted” its observations in the Nupur Sharma case for criminal contempt. Of course, he just said that. He wanted to sue OpIndia and prove a point – when the judges ruled in our favor, they were infallible.
While we should be worried about contempt proceedings and what will happen if GA agrees to Saket Gokhale’s request, I am writing this today to say that, with utmost conviction – We got nothing wrong and it’s a hill that I’m willing to die happily on.
First of all, the Judges in this case expanded their memory in making these remarks. They find Nupur Sharma guilty in a case where they have no authority to consider the merits of the case.
They must decide if there is enough threat against her for the FIRs to be destroyed – as they did in the case of Kamlesh Tiwari. Legally, those comments are unnecessary and contrary to their memory. Retired judge SN Dhingra himself criticized the judges for their “political comments”.
Retired Supreme Court Justice SN Dhingra said: “The Supreme Court has clearly said that Nupur Sharma is entitled to the power she has as a member of the ruling party and she continues to make these comments arbitrarily.
In my conscience, the same applies to the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court itself cannot find anyone guilty without an investigation. The case was brought to the Supreme Court only to transfer the FIRs and not to prove the charges against her as criminal contempt.
Why? Why didn’t the court put her comments in the written order so that the Supreme Court could be held accountable on issues like – how fair is it for you to find her guilty without a judgment? trial, become a prosecutor yourself, to convict herself, and convict her only to give your verdict orally?
This absolute shock was expressed not only by SN Dhingra but also by the public. Average citizens who have trusted the justice system time and again feel frustrated and resentful of the “political comments” from “power-drunk judges” (in the words of SN Dhingra, no. right mine).
Is that a statement that I have to agree with the arguments the Taliban agree with just because they come from two judges?
The good thing about Saket Gokhale‘s petition is that at least fundamentalist allies like him have admitted that Islamism is a bad thing. If they believe us by saying that the judges speak the language of Islam and that, according to him, it is an act of contempt, then he also admits that Islamism must be denounced. I will dedicate this small victory that he and his supporters have inadvertently assigned to us.
Let me make my point as clear as possible without going into the nuances of the Nupur Sharma case, as that is not the purpose of this article. One woman was told that she would soon be beheaded.
She was told that the Muslims would find her and gang-rape her. He was told that she would be cut into pieces and thrown into the gutter.
Those who made these threats proved they would act – they beheaded Kanhaiya Lal for supporting Nupur Sharma, they beheaded Umesh Kohli for supporting her, and street riots demanded “Sar Tan Se” Judah”.
The judges, in this case, upheld the offense that allowed them to murder by saying that Nupur Sharma was responsible for the murder of Kanhaiya Lal, thus almost vindicating the Muslims and religious hatred. Their religion led to the murder.
If Bharat, this ancient civilization, can discuss to himself that restrained judges should make unnecessary remarks because of my “loose tongue”, so be it. Bring it in.
