Cristiano Ronaldo’s Career in Football
Born and raised in Madeira, Cristiano Ronaldo is regarded as one of the best football players in the world. He has won 5 Ballon D’or Awards and 4 European Golden Shoes, the highest number a European has won to date.
He is also credited as the first football player to earn USD 1 billion in their career. He also captains the Portugal national football team.
With impressive plays in Manchester United and Real Madrid, Ronaldo signed a four-year contract with Italian football club Juventus FC in 2018.
His transfer to Juventus FC is considered one of the most expensive transfers consisting of signing a deal worth 100 million Euros, along with an additional 12 million euros in other fees.
He won his first trophy with the club on 16 January 2019. He has scored around 101 goals for Juventus FC ever since his transfer from Real Madrid.
Possible departure from Juventus FC
Although the Italian team had insisted that Ronaldo would be staying with them, local Italian news agencies have been stating otherwise. News channel, Sky sport Italia have reported that Ronaldo has also cleaned out his locker in the dressing room at Juventus FC.
According to the latest reports, Manchester City has been in talks with Ronaldo, and they are close to reaching an agreement with each other.
Hinting at his possible departure from Juventus, sports news agency ESPN also reported in June that Ronaldo’s representatives were keeping an eye on European clubs for a possible transfer of the player.
Ronaldo has reportedly notified Juventus of his desire to leave the club and also informed them that he would not be playing with the squad in their next match against Empoli.
He has therefore requested Juventus FC to sell him before the summer transfer window comes to an end.
Towards striking a deal with Manchester City
It is also reported that Manchester City has offered a two-year contract to Cristiano Ronaldo till 2024 that is worth around 15 million euros a season. However, it would be significantly lower than his salary at Juventus FC, roughly approximately 31 million euros.
Manchester City Pep Guardiola’s current manager has also cited his desire to find a replacement for Sergio Aguero, who was the club’s striker.
Although the club had their interest fixated on Harry Kane, the former’s decision to remain with his team at Tottenham Hotspur led them to take interest in Ronaldo.
Juventus Coach Massimiliano Allegro is reportedly okay with Ronaldo’s exit from the club but would also need someone to fill his position as the forward player.
In addition, Juventus FC demands a fee of around 28 million euros before permitting Ronaldo to leave the club.
Ronaldo, who has one year remaining in his contract with Juventus, has also been linked with Paris Saint- Germain and also a possible return to Madrid that he has already denounced on his social media. A deal with Manchester City will also note his return to the Premier League.
