On Saturday due to massive rain in the region following Cyclone Mandous , roads submerged and marketplace was disintegrated, as streams overflowed in several regions of the KVB Puram Mandal.
The regions that fronted similar overflow of rivers entailed Kovanur, Thimmasamudram, and Rajula Kandiga.Before that, the KVB Puram Mandal in Andhra Pradesh’s Tirupati district marked the highest downpour at 258 mm due to Tropical Cyclone Mandous presently active in the Bay of Bengal region, stated authorised sources.
As per sources, the route from KVB Puram Mandal, under the Satyavedu constituency, towards the Srikalahasti is fully blocked due to heavy water inflow from nearby ponds and lakes.Along with Andhra Pradesh, Chennai and several other regions of Tamil Nadu, have witnessed massive rainfall and strong winds as cyclonic storm ‘Mandous’ crossed the states on Saturday, after landfall, as per the India Meteorological Department( IMD).
On Friday, devotees visiting Tirupati Venkateswara Temple in Tirumala confronted several problems, ranging from hampered darshan to hardship in reaching hotels as heavy rainfall bombarded the city under the influence of Cyclone Mandous.
As per reports, the low-lying areas of Tirumala, containing the temple premises, witnessed waterlogging making it tough for the devotees, including senior and differently abled persons, to commute from their accommodated hotels.
Yesterday, over 10 flights were cancelled at Chennai airport due to unfavourable rainfall conditions due to cyclone Mandous. The officers also advised the general public to check with the concerned airlines in regard to the flights affected due to the extreme rainstorm conditions.

Mandous is all set to enfeeble to a deep depression and thereafter a depression on Saturday, as per the native Met bureau. The downfall touched off by the cyclone has caused harsh waterlogging in low- lying areas.In view of Cyclone Mandous preserving its intensity of ‘ Severe Cyclonic Storm ’ till the early morning hours today.
The National Disaster Response Force party was kept on the buttress in Chennai informed officers on Friday.The officers added that the brigades were ready with outfit so as to take note of any untoward incident.Heavy rains with brawny winds were also endured in Puducherry on Friday. Red alerts were sounded in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Andhra Pradesh. Doppler Weather Radar Karaikal and Chennai are covering the cyclone.
