England won by eight runs thanks to a stellar 82 from Dawid Malan, supported by Sam Curran’s 3-25 and some all-around excellent fielding.
Dawid Malan, Moeen Ali, and Sam Curran all performed admirably as England defeated Australia in the second T20I by an additional eight runs to win the series.
The toss was won by Australia and they decided to bowl.
In the second T20I of the three-match series on Wednesday at the Manuka Oval in Canberra, England scored 178/7 against Australia. Australia’s response saw them at 120/5 after 15 overs, needing 59 more runs in the final 30 balls to win. Tim David and the recently arrived Matthew Wade were both batting each having scored 19 runs off of 12 ball.
SAM CURRAN’S CONTRIBUTION IN VICTORY
82 from 49 was hitted by Malan while the ball was exceled by Sam Curran .
Curran had to give himself credit for having such a buffer. When Tim David came to bat in the 18th over, Curran packed the offside, giving himself the perfect field to deliver the ball well outside of the off-stump area. Tim David’s explosive 40 was an IPL millionaire’s inning.

THE OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCE BY DAWID MALAN
In the primary game in Perth, Malan confronted two balls. On Wednesday, he came in as booked at three and hit seven fours and four sixes – Australia oversaw five – in an innings of affirmation and authority.
This has been a remarkable week for Dawid Malan. On Sunday, he slid down England’s batting request like a lubed up pre-youngster on a waterslide; on Tuesday he lost his central contract; and on Wednesday in Canberra, he showed up with an axe to grind and a bat to wield.
Malan, player of the match for his 82, gives us the standard clinches about his pleasure in the team winning and his individual performance.
THE SPIDERMAN : BEN STOKES
There are many players who are well-known for their athleticism on the pitch, but few are capable of performing the miracles that Ben Stokes does there. He received a standing ovation from the Australian audience when, during the second T20I match against Australia, he dove towards the boundary rope to save a certain six.
Stokes, who was positioned at long-off, put out an acrobatic performance. Sam Curran’s length delivery, which appeared to be flying over Stokes’ head, was caught up by Marsh. But the all-around player lost all sense of balance as he sprang up high and caught the ball with one hand. He almost crossed the ropes as he released the ball in midair just before he sailed over the barriers.
SOME GLIMPSE OF AUSTRALIA
Mit Marsh and Tim David both compiled quickfire innings but was not enough for Australia to chase down England’s 178 in Canberra.
In reaction, David moved to the opposite side to position himself for a full-throttle encounter with a wide ball. Curran had the temerity to bowl a leg-stump yorker, the incorrect ball for his field but the ideal one for David’s position, after spotting what David was doing and possibly anticipating it.
Mitchell Marsh’s easy 29-ball 45 kept Australia in the game. Before being bowled by Ben Stokes in the fifteenth over, Marsh hit three fours and two sixes during his innings. However, Marsh might have hit three sixes if Stokes hadn’t put in an outstanding defensive performance during the 12th over.
The on-field umpire ruled that Marsh and Marcus Stoinis only made two runs because the replay demonstrated that Stokes did not commit an error in preserving the six.
Despite hitting it too long on but not off the centre, Cummins. just one. Wade wanted a quick single after the throw was a little errant, but Cummins wasn’t prepared, so the hitters ultimately settled on a single.
CONCLUSION
Since 2015, England’s supremacy in white ball cricket has been well-documented, and just before the WC, they overcame the World Champions. They will feel this as a shot in the arm. Although England were in trouble in the opening half of the first innings against a powerful Australian team, they managed to mount a remarkable comeback. Ali joined the fight when Malan took the initiative. Then Curran and others contributed by casting some excellent ball spells to stop 178. They had rallied from a deficit to defeat Pakistan, and they have now degraded Australia. England’s ambitions have been made apparent. However, Australia would be aware that they were very close and that these minor details would count in important games.
Australia’s prospects of success at home have been dashed by England. With one game left, they have won the series 2-0. Australia came really close in both games, but their efforts haven’t been aided by repeated shoddy work. Have they been able to overcome these in some way? To test it, they still have one more game. Although England has operated like well-oiled machinery, it hopes to improve over the coming days. However, the build-up is excellent.
