The EU has closed its airspace to Russian aircraft
In response to Russia’s invasion, the European Union’s chief executive says the 27-nation bloc would shut its airspace to Russian airlines, fund supplies of weapons to Ukraine, and ban some pro-Kremlin media sites on Day 4.
“We are shutting down the EU airspace for Russians,” Von der Leyen continued that all Russian-owned, Russian-registered, or Russian-controlled aircraft would be prohibited, according to our proposal. These planes will no longer be able to land, take off, or fly over EU territory. She also stated that the EU will prohibit “the Kremlin’s media operation.” Russia Today, Sputnik, and their subsidiaries will no longer be able to broadcast their lies in order to justify Putin’s war and create division in our unity.

The UN Security Council votes on calling an ’emergency special session’ of the General Assembly
Two days after Moscow used its veto to block a resolution on its aggression against Kyiv, the UN Security Council voted to call a rare “emergency extraordinary session” of the 193-member General Assembly to discuss Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. The Security Council’s 15 members met on an afternoon to vote on the special session. This was the UN General Assembly‘s 11th emergency session since 1950.
The session was called by a procedural vote. As a result, none of the Council’s five permanent members – China, France, Russia, the United Kingdom, and the United States – could use their vetoes. Abdulla Shahid, President of the 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly, canceled his trip to Geneva for the Human Rights Council’s 49th regular session because of the vote.
