New Delhi, India: Today, the Delhi Commission for Women claimed that an alleged rape survivor was paraded by her neighbours in Delhi and assaulted amid cheers, her hair shaved and her face blackened. After the video went viral, four ladies were detained.Â
The chairperson of the Delhi Commission for women Swati Maliwal, tweeted.Â
Swati Maliwal, the chairperson of the Delhi Commission for Women, who met with the victim, stated in a tweet that she had requested action from the Delhi Police and further arrests.Â
“In Kasturba Nagar, a 20-year-old female was gang-raped by unlicensed booze salesmen. Her head was tonsured and she had black paint applied to her face before being paraded around the streets wearing a garland of shoes.
I’m sending a notification to the Delhi Police Department. All of the implicated men and women should be detained, and the girl and her family should be provided with protection “While posting the video, Ms Maliwal stated.Â
“Ms Maliwal met the rape survivor, who told her that she was kidnapped from her house and gang raped by three men involved in the illegal booze and drug trade in the area. The ladies present instigated the males to rape her as they were gang rapping her.
She went on to say that they viciously beat her up, shaved her head, blackened her face, and forced her to go around the neighbourhood wearing a garland of slippers and shoes “In a press statement, the women’s panel stated.Â
The Commission
It has also requested information on any past complaints filed against the accused, particularly those involving their involvement in illegal liquor and narcotics trafficking.Â
“In addition, the Delhi Police has been ordered to submit details on the efforts taken to ensure the girl’s safety. The Delhi Police Department has been given 72 hours to submit a thorough action taken report to the Commission, along with CCTV video of the whole incident “It was said.Â
According to the survivor’s sister, in November of last year, a kid in the neighborhood who claimed to be in love with the lady committed suicide. She stated, “His family blames my sister for their son’s death.”Â
“We learned yesterday that a woman was kidnapped, assaulted, and threatened by a group of women. We retrieved the victim from the accused’s home and provided counselling and medical treatment to her. We nabbed an accused today and detained four suspects yesterday “According to a top police officer.Â
“Raids continue to be carried out in order to apprehend others. We are enforcing the law to the fullest extent possible ” he added. In the past, the accused and the rape victim were neighbors. Accused said that her son committed suicide in November of last year due to that woman.Â
An investigation into the situation is now ongoing.
