Delhi Police has arrested two accused for shooting a doctor in Delhi.
Two men fired a junior resident doctor of Rao Tula Ram Memorial Hospital to rob his car. The incident took place at southwest Delhi’s Jaffarpur Kalan on February 7. The accused have been identified as Dinesh, aka Vicky and Nikhil, and are residents of Jhajjar district in Haryana.Â
The doctor was shot on the face Â
On February 7, Dr. Hemant Mudgal was present at a tea stall outside the hospital with his Verna car parked nearby. It was when Mudgal was entering his car that one of the accused tried to rob his car at gunpoint. And when Mudgal resisted, the accused opened fire at him and one of the bullets hit the doctor on his face.Â
FIR launched, accused has been arrested Â
The FIR was launched and a team was constituted under the supervision of Umesh Barthwal, ACP and Ms. Monika Bhardwaj, DCP Crime to carry out the investigation on the matter. On February 16, both the accused were arrested while they were coming to Delhi after committing another carjacking. Â
Carjacking was planned to supply illegal liquor Â
After the interrogation, Dinesh disclosed that he had a 35 percent share in a wine shop in his village along with another man named Lalit, which resulted in heavy loss, due to which he had bought an ECO car and started supplying the illegal liquor in Delhi and NCR.Â
In September also, he was booked by Sagarpur police for supplying illegal liquor in his ECO car and his car was also seized by the police.Â
To compensate for the loss, along with his partner Nikhil he planned carjacking at gunpoint from Delhi. They decided that they would place a fake number plate on the car so that it could be used for the supply of the illegal liquor, which is why they decided to snatch Dr Mudgal’s Verna car.Â
