According to charges made by Shinde faction Lok Sabha MP Rahul Shewale over the deaths of Sushant Rajput and Salian, Nitesh Rane requested a “narco test” on Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray. Shewale had questioned the CBI on Wednesday over the investigation into Rajput’s killing and the potential involvement of powerful individuals, including a senior member of the Maha Vikas Aghadi.
According to him, “AU” made “44 calls to (actress) Rhea Chakraborty,” and the Bihar police had determined that “AU” was “Aaditya Uddhav,” he claimed. Rane questioned why Thackeray’s name kept coming up whenever the deaths of Rajput and Disha Salian were addressed, and he claimed that because Shewale was so close to Thackeray, the accusations made by him must be regarded seriously.
Aditya Thackeray should take a drug test in connection with the wrongful death cases of Disha Salian and Sushant Singh Rajput, according to a BJP MLA from Maharashtra on December 22. Rane told reporters, “Let the truth about the Disha Salian case come out. It is still under investigation by the Mumbai Police and the CBI. I’ll ask CM to look into it. Both the final postmortem report and the pages of the full book have not yet been located. Aaditya Thackeray needs to undergo a drug test.
Why did Disha Salian’s death issue come up for discussion now?

BJP MLA Nitesh Rane targeted Aditya Thackeray and Uddhav Thackeray. He says that Aditya Thackeray’s narco test should be done in the case of Sushant Singh Rajput and his manager Disha Salian’s death.
BJP MLA Nitesh Rane said Disha Salian’s death case is still under the Mumbai Police. CBI is not probing this matter. Rane had said that he would demand Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to reopen Disha Salian’s death case and get it re-investigated. When and how did Disha die?
On June 9, 2020, Disha Salian allegedly died after falling from the 14th floor of a building in Malad, Mumbai. Later Disha’s death was also linked to the death of Sushant Singh Rajput, who died on 14 June 2020. According to reports, Disha had committed suicide. What has been the investigation so far in the case of Disha’s death?
After the death of 28-year-old Disha Salian, the Mumbai Police registered an Accidental Death Report (ADR). In August 2021, the police filed a closure report in this matter. The investigation was closed by the police early last year. According to the police, no evidence of conspiracy was found in the case. Only last month, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), probing the Sushant case, had termed Disha Salian’s death as an accident.
Why is Aditya Thackeray the target of BJP leaders on this issue?
BJP MLA Nitesh Rane has demanded an inquiry into the Disha Salian case several times. He also demanded a narco test of Aditya Thackeray in the Disha Salian case. Apart from this, Bihar BJP leaders have also linked the Disha case with the Thackeray family.
Has this matter even reached the court?
In October 2020, there was a petition in the Supreme Court for a CBI inquiry into the Sushant Singh Rajput case as well as Disha’s case. Then the court refused to consider the petition for conducting a CBI inquiry. The court had asked the petitioner to withdraw the petition and approach the Bombay High Court for the same.
At the same time, in November 2020, the Bombay High Court rejected the petition demanding a CBI inquiry into Disha Salian’s death. Delhi-based lawyer Puneet Dhanda had filed a petition in the Bombay High Court. In his petition, he appealed to the court to conduct a CBI inquiry into Disha Salian’s death. This petition was rejected by the court which said that if anyone has any evidence regarding Disha’s death, he can contact the police.
