‘Just Beyond The World You Know, There Is Another’ in the ever-expanding R.L. Steins’ universe brings kid-friendly nightmares as you enter a world of fantasies & fears.
Disney+ has set the stage for Halloween this year with its freshly out of oven upcoming anthology releasing a new trailer for the comedy-horror series, Just Beyond, straight from the brains of R.L. Stein.
The series will have eight episodes, each narrating its exciting tale getting you back to the times of Goosebumps Horror land. Just Beyond is set in a world of fantasies and nightmares and is expected to premiere on October 13 on Disney+ as part of Hallowstream.
The trailer starts giving a scope to see the world just beyond ours. The viewers learn ‘Just Beyond’ is another world with typical fantasies and fears of any kid like witches, phantoms, parallel universes, and even aliens.
Each episode in the series will introduce a new cast of characters in this alternate world, venturing in the unknown territory on incredible journeys filled with the right sort of twists, turns, and nightmares for this Halloween only to rediscover themselves.
Just Beyond will star Gabriel Bateman, Nasim Pedrad, Cedric Joe, Riki Lindhome, Gabriel Bateman, Rachel Marsh, Henry Thomas, and many more.
The original series is based on the BOOM! Studios graphic novels by Stine and produced by 20th Television, a part of Disney Studios.
The cast includes Lexi Underwood (The First Lady) and Mckenna Grace (Ghostbusters: Afterlife).
Stine, known for his work on the Fear Street and Goosebump novel series, serves as co-executive producer, with Marc Webb from ‘The Amazing Spider-Man’ directing two episodes.
Seth Grahame-Smith serves as writer/showrunner for the series has earlier worked on 2017’s The Lego Batman Movie, Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.
He is also the executive producer with Aaron Schmidt and David Katzenberg via KatzSmith Productions, Marc Webb, David Walpert, Stephen Christy, Ross Richie, and Mark Ambrose of BOOM!.
It is an oeuvre of Steins’ thrilling trailer closes with Marsh’s character talking to another unknown Just Beyond character off-screen, saying, “We are gonna have such a wonderful time together, yay!” clearly signalling the viewers for a truly wild ride. Henry Thomas (“Midnight Mass”) will also appear as glimpsed in the trailer.
Last year Grahame-Smith said in a statement, “I grew up watching Twilight Zone reruns and the original Amazing Stories with my parents,” adding, “I’ve always wanted to make a genre anthology series that families could enjoy together,” and to deliver it in a way to satisfy the hunger in both kids and adults alike.
He also said that R.L. Stein had been an essential part of millions of childhoods, while, Disney+ has consistently proven itself as a place that knows what families want and how to make it happen in high-quality shows for the whole bunch.
He said, “I couldn’t be more excited to be working with both of them.”
