Congress leader Ajoy Kumar gives a heated remark on NDA’s presidential candidate Droupadi Murmu, that she represents ‘evil philosophy of India’.
The Bharatiya Janata party slammed Congress leader Kumar for making a ‘very evil philosophy’remark against NDA’s presidential candidate Droupadi Murmu, saying that the Grand Old Party is disrespecting the tribal section of the country.
Ajoy Kumar questioned against representing Droupadi Murmu as a ‘tribal’ nominee for the presidential election and accused the ruling government of playing with people’s sentiment.
The Congress leader said that Ram Nath Kovind who belongs to the scheduled caste community and is the present president of the country, no heeds to atrocities against the scheduled caste people. Further, he alleged the condition of scheduled caste people of the country has become ‘worse’ and that Droupadi Murmu should not be symbolized as an ‘Adivasi’ nominee by the ruling party.
“ It’s not about Droupadi Murmu. Yashwant Sinha is also a good and Murmu is also a decent person. But she represents a very evil philosophy of India. We should not make her a symbol of ‘adivasi’. We have president Ram Nath Kovind, Hathras happened. Has he said a word? The condition of scheduled caste has become worse, ” Kumar was quoted by news agency ANI. Subsequently, Ajoy Kumar describes the upcoming presidential election as “a fight for the soul of the nation”.
Congress-led opposition parties present its candidate, Yashwant sinha the former union minister and ex- BJP leader for the presidential election which will be held on July 18. He stood against Droupadi Murmu, National Democratic Alliance’s candidate.
If elected, Droupadi Murmu will become the second female president of the country after Pratima Patil and India’s first woman tribal president. She was the first woman governor of Jharkhand (from 2015 to 2021). She belongs to a tribal family in the village of Mayurbhanj, a backward district in Odisha. Ms. Murmu completed her studies against all odds.
The BJP spokesperson Shehzad poonawalla strongly reverted to Ajoy Kumar’s statement and said “This is how congress leader insults the president nominee owing to she represents ‘tribal’ community.
“Very evil philosophy of india. What does it mean? The fact that she belongs to a tribal family and become nominee for the presidential election? That she fights against barriers of socioeconomic circumstances and served as MLA, minister, Jharkhand governor and now electing for the president post? such a deplorable mindset.” Poonawalla said
Bjp hitting back-to-back comments and seeking apology from Ajoy Kumar.
Senior BJP leader Amit Malviya also slammed Ajoy Kumar and tweeted: “a woman from ‘Adivasi’ Samaj who is the nominee for the president’s office. She will become the india’s first woman tribal president and significantly empower the tribals, but congress leader disrespect her identity as she represents tribal community. Shame.”
Following reactions by the BJP, Kumar took to Twitter and claimed that the saffron party is spreading a fabricated video to defame him. “It is a shame that BJP IT cell is spreading a fabricated video to defame me. I don’t care what trollers say or spread, I want BJP to answer to our Dalit brothers and sisters what they have done for Dalit people,” he said in a series of tweets.
