The Implementation Directorate has given new request to Maneka Gambhir, the sister by marriage of TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee, for addressing in a tax evasion case after it was tracked down that the organization “wrongly” gave her a notification for appearance at 12:30 AM rather than 12:30 PM on Monday, official sources said.
Gambhir was given over the request to show up at the ED office in Kolkata on Monday “at 12:30 AM” by organization authorities at the Kolkata air terminal on September 10 after they denied her from voyaging abroad as she was expected to join examination in a supposed coal trick case.
She arrived at the ED office in the Salt Lake region around the specified time given on the request yet as it was a wrong date gave unintentionally, she found the workplace shut and returned subsequent to clicking a few pictures, the sources said.
The sources said the 12 PM time imprinted on the previous request was a “typographical mistake” and it ought to have been “12:30 PM” on September 12.
Presently, Gambhir has been sent new request to show up before the office here around 2 PM, they said.
Gambhir has not been addressed by the ED for this situation till now. The CBI had before scrutinized her in the said case.
The Calcutta High Court in August guided the ED to address Gambhir at its local office in Kolkata and not in Delhi and furthermore not to make coercive strides against her till the following date of hearing.
