The UN global fund for education and protracted crises, Education Cannot Wait(ECW), shows that those 222 million of girls and boys. More than 78.2 million are out of school. While almost 120 million, who are in attendance are not receiving minimum proficiency in reading or maths.Â
 80% children miss out education
As per analysis, 84% children are missing out school and are living in areas with crisis. From refugee settlements, damaged classrooms and communities torn by war and disaster, millions of poor and hopeful children are badly holding on to education that will allow them in fulfilling their dream of becoming teachers, doctors or engineers.
Their need has been even greater than this nor more urgent, said ECW. In the initial analysis it is also suggested that COVID-19 induced learning losses are more relevant among the poor and those who were behind in term of education prior- two groups that typically include children in crisis.
With strategic partners, ECW’s commitment is to uphold crisis hit children’s primary right to equitable, quality education opportunities, including whole-of-child as well as holistic approach to help them overcome the challenges they face midst crisis and achieve outcomes.Â
To conclude, this report has shocked the whole world to a great extent. The UN is planning to help more and more to increase the count of students around the world. To initiate it, the ECW and strategic partners have launched a #222MillionDreams resource mobilization campaign in Geneva.Â
