Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, finally broke his 10-day Twitter blackout on Saturday, revealing that he had been feeling a little bored during that time.
Musk went on his longest “digital detox” from Twitter in over five years, allowing his over 100 million followers and the media to speculate about his whereabouts.
The 22nd of June was the last time he tweeted before he stopped using the microblogging site, which he had been using to break news and help others.
“Are you possibly feeling a little bit bored?” a tweet from Elon Musk Immediately after that, a follower responded, “Daddy’s home!” “Where you been? It’s been a drag haha,” said a second Twitter user.
After that, Musk published a picture of himself beside His Holiness Pope Francis at the Vatican, in which his adult children are likely also visible.
Musk claimed that he was honored to meet with Pontifex the day before.
His silence for the past 10 days comes in the midst of the contentious $44 billion deal to buy Twitter, which he has put on hold until CEO Parag Agrawal informs him of the exact number of bots and spam accounts on the platform.
His silence comes as Twitter has been embroiled in a scandal over fake accounts.
Musk, a prolific user of Twitter, most recently wrote on June 22 about the conflict between SpaceX and the United States Federal Communications Commission (FCC) about broadband use.
His supporters had anticipated a strong reaction from him in light of the recent contentious judgment made in the United States about abortion rights; however, he was not there when the verdict was handed down.
