Erling Haaland scores on debut as Man City win their first game of the pre-season

It took Erling Haaland twelve minutes to score his first-ever goal for his new club.

Manchester City squad is in the United States of America for the preparation of the upcoming season. City played their first game against the Mexican side Club America. They won their first game comfortably with a brace from Kevin De Bruyne.

The second match against FC Bayern Munich was disrupted twice because of lightning in the local area. The game started late and there was a disruption during the first half resulting in the game ending in 80 minutes.

The new Norwegian signing Erling Haaland who joined the club for 51.2 million pounds made his much-awaited and anticipated debut against German giants FC Bayern Munich.

Haaland missed his first game of the pre-season due to injury niggles. It took him only 12 minutes to score on debut. Norwegian striker also scored at the edge of the halftime, but later that goal got ruled offside.

22 years old striker scored his first goal from a beautifully whipped cross from man of the match Jack Grealish. Many footballing experts believe that Haaland is a perfect fit for Manchester City.

But the City boss Pep Guardiola believes that a new signing needs time.

“Today, he scored a very important goal which decided the game. These kinds of goals in front of the keeper he’s always there”

“We will see how he will react to the injury niggles; we will have plenty of time to assess his condition before the season starts. Once he is fully fit, we will see his best form” says four-time Premier League, winning manager.

This game was the first-ever football game played on the Lambeau field- home of the NFL team Green Bay Packers. This field is one of the country’s topmost venues for American football or Rugby.

Manchester City will travel back to their homeland England where they face Liverpool on 30th July for the FA Community Shield in the home of Leicester City King Power Stadium at 9:30 pm (IST).
