The European Union chief, Ursula Von Der Leyen reaches the town of Bucha in Ukraine to pay visit to the victims of the war-struck country.
Ursula Von Der Leyen, the European Union Chief, on her visit to Bucha, Ukraine paid visit to the Ukrainians. She said, that the conditions prevailing in Bucha and areas near Kyiv, demonstrate the cruel picture of Russia. Further, Von Der Leyen assured a speedy alliance of Ukraine with the European Union.
The EU chief, witnessed the forensic investigation of bodies from mass graves in the areas outside Kyiv. According to Reuters, Von der Leyen was heartbroken after watching the atrocities. The authorities explained that hundreds of Ukrainian civilians were killed by the Russian forces.

Ursula Von Der Leyen has officially stated that Ukraine will be allied with the European Union within weeks. The European Union president has also handed over an official questionnaire to Zelensky at a press conference in Kyiv.
It is stated that becoming a part of the European Union usually takes many years, due to several rounds of applications, criteria checks and elaborated negotiations. But, in the light of the recent events, the European Union is ready to accept the membership of Ukraine as soon as possible.
During the press conference, Ursula Von Der Leyen confirmed, “It will not as usual be a matter of years to form this opinion but I think a matter of weeks”. Further, she also explained the West’s policy in the support of Ukraine. She also assured that the next round of sanctions the EU will impose will result in Putin’s failure.
Attack on the Kramatorsk railway station
Shortly before the arrival of the EU delegation, a Russian missile strike attacked the Kramatorsk railway station in Ukraine. It killed almost 50 people and left many wounded. The railway station was filled with civilians trying to flee the eastern Ukraine due to the threat of major Russian offenses. The missiles that dropped in the areas had imprinted “for our children” on the weapons.
Von Der Leyen described the attack a ‘cynical behaviour’ of the Russian forces, to write “for our children” on the weapons. She also stated that the EU can never match the sacrifices of the Ukrainians and all we can do is to assure a speedy membership to Ukraine.
