Exo to hold a fan meet in Seoul to celebrate their 10th Debut Anniversary with the fans.
Earlier this week SM Entertainment announced that a fan meeting would be organized for one of their most famous K-Pop boy band, Exo, for them to celebrate the 10 years of their debut with their fans a.k.a Exo-Ls (Exo’s fandom’s name).
The event will be held on 9th April 2022 at 7 pm KST in Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium located in the southern part of Seoul, South Korea.
The Sextuple Million-seller band, EXO, debuted under SM Entertainment in 2012 with 12 members of South Korean and Chinese origin. The group now stands with 9 members with 6 active members (Xiumin, Lay, Suho, D.O., Kai and Sehun) while 3 members (Chen, Baekhyun and Chanyeol) are completing their mandatory military services.
The meet will be attended by 5 of the 6 active members, namely, Suho, Xiumin, Sehun, D.O. and Kai who will be performing as well as participating in games and various other fun-filled activities during the event.
This fan-meet is not only Exo’s first group activity since their last comeback with their special album Don’t Fight the Feeling in June 2021, it will also be their first in-person interaction with their fans in 3 years. Exo’s last concert, Exo Planet #5- Exploration with a live audience was held in 2019.
Since then the group was on a hiatus until the release of the special album in June last year. However, due to the covid conditions and time crunch because of member enlistment, the group did not have any live stages or performances for the said album.
Considering the scarcity of in-person interactions between the fandom and the group and the uncertainty of the next concert/fan-meet, the fans were all geared up to get their hands on the tickets for the event. The tickets went on sale at 8 pm KST on 21st March 2022.
However, it was noted that within a minute the show was sold out, proving that the group still stands strong and in demand even after 10 years.
Noticeably, this isn’t the first time the tickets for the groups’ event have been sold out within seconds. Exo holds the record for the fastest sold-out tour in the world with Exo Planet 2- The Exo’luxion in 2015 for selling out in 0.4 seconds. The next year, in 2016, they broke their record with Exo Planet 3- The ElyXion by selling out in 0.2 seconds.
The event will also be streamed live on the platform Beyond live for fans across the world who cannot physically attend the event. The tickets for the online event will be on sale at 3 pm on 24th March 2022 and can be purchased from Beyondlive.com and smtownandstore.com.
The tickets for the offline event were priced at 77,000 KRW (approx. Rs. 4.8k) whereas the price for the tickets of the online streams will be 39000 KRW (approx. Rs 2.4k). VOD or concert re-streaming facility will not be available for the event which gives the fans all the more reason to work hard for the tickets.
The group’s upcoming activities include the third instalment of their travel show “Travel around the world on Exo’s Ladder” and an album whose details are yet to be announced.
