Diwali is a festival that everyone wants to celebrate with their families. Hence, The thousands of people who are planning their holidays accordingly but booking Flight Tickets for the festive season has been on the rise. Only after 2 years of the pandemic hit and consequently, restrictions imposed, were people got relieved. Therefore, they have plans of celebrating the ‘festival of lights on a larger scale.
Also after these restrictions were relaxed the tourism industry has become like it was never before. Because of all these reasons, for the upcoming 5-day festival, all the prices of flights too have sky-rocketed. Just looking at the prices of the tickets may create a state of shock for some while burning a hole for others.
Which routes are the busiest and costlier?
This year, the festival of lights lies between October 22 and 26. Hence, between October 21 and 24, the flight ticket prices are the highest. These rates are the highest in the span of the last 27 months.
In August 2021, the government curbed all aviation restrictions. According to a study, the flight search in the year 2022 was the highest.
As per the study, it is 118% more as compared to pre covid era. Also, the search for international flights rose to 143%. While the search for domestic flights has risen by 91%. The study also suggests that the number of passengers traveling is more in number as compared to the pre covid era.
What is the approximate price for each route?
Delhi- Goa route
The ticket price for Delhi- Goa alone is approximately Rs. 16,000- Rs. 17000, so single way. This price is for a 2 hour 20 minutes non-stop journey whereas on the other hand, Mumbai – Goa is Rs. 9000-Rs 16,000.
Mumbai- Kochi route
The Mumbai-Kochi route is a 1 hour and 45-minute journey which costs around 26,000 for a two-way route (to and fro) whereas the cheapest rate for the route is Rs. 14,000.
Delhi- Kochi route
This route is a 3-hour and 15 minutes continuous journey which may cost around Rs. 18000 to Rs. 2000 per head.
Mumbai- Jaipur route
This route can be expensive for many. The 1 hour 45 minutes journey will cost Rs. 22,535 in Indigo, and Rs. 23,561 in Air Asia. Whereas, in flights like Vistra, the rate has shot up to Rs. 26,360.
There is another option for passengers. The 1 hour 45 minutes distance will be covered in 10 hours 15 minutes. The rate for the same will be Rs. 18000. On normal days, the same route costs from 8000-14000.
Delhi- Jaipur route
The usual cost for this route is 5600-7000. Due to the festive season, the price has shot up to Rs.9290 in Indigo. The same route costs Rs. 9685 in Spicejet.
Prices for other routes
Mumbai-Srinagar route costs s. 27,400 per head. The other routes of Delhi- Kolkata/Srinagar will cost between 9000 and Rs. 23,000. During the festival of Chatt Puja, the Mumbai-Allahabad route will cost Rs. 15000- Rs. 20000.
The route with the lowest price is the Delhi-Bengaluru route which will cost, Rs. 11000 (in SpiceJet). For Indigo and Air India, the ticket price is Rs. 11,742 and Rs. 11,837 respectively.
