A novel partnership between Indian Space Research Organization(ISRO) and Social Alpha, on 6th December signed a MoU to launch SpaceTech Innovation Network (SpIN), India’s first established platform for space entrepreneurial ecosystem.Â
SpIN is a kind of private-public collaboration for startups and Small and Medium-size enterprises(SMEs) in the space industry which will stimulate India’s space reform policies and will work together for identifying and untethering market’s potential for SpaceTech innovators and entrepreneurs in India, said the space agency.
S. Somanath, Chairman, ISRO, said that as space applications touch many dimensions of life from earth to the sky, these innovations are expected to bring a paradigm shift to further maximize its application at economic, social, and environmental levels in our society. He further added that he wishes that the SpIN platform would create a level playing platform for innovators to add to the space ecosystem.
Social Alpha is a platform designed for multistage innovation curation and venture development which supports start-ups for innovation in science and technology through a network of innovative labs, incubators, accelerator programmers, funding for seeds and market access mechanisms.
