As the fierce fight continues to horrify the capital City, Khartoum, Sudan. Many countries have evacuated their diplomats and foreign nationals from the city.
UK and US, on Sunday, announced that they had flown their diplomats out of the city and that they were taken to safer places.
France, Italy, Germany, and Spain are also one of those countries that are evacuating their nationals and Diplomats.Â
It’s been over a week that the Power struggle between the Army and Paramilitary forces in Sudan has gotten even worse after suggesting they should cease fire. It was only for Ramadan that the initiative for a ceasefire was taken into consideration but it seems that the war has no end.
The US initiated a “fast and clean” operation with Chinook helicopters on Sunday with airlifting fewer than 100 people. The US Embassy has now closed in Khartoum however US states in its official tweet that it will be difficult for them to evacuate private U.S Citizens.
The UK government initiated a “complex and rapid” operation and they were successful in airlifting the diplomats along with their families out of the country but the Foreign Minister of the UK mentioned that it has become difficult to evacuate other nationals as options are severely limited.
French President Emmanuel Macron confirms that a plane arrived carrying French nationals in Djibouti on Sunday while another evacuation took place on Monday which airlifted for 388 nationals.
A number of Dutch nationals left with a French plane and some of them left with the Netherlands on an early flight on Monday.
Germany has updated three planes living for Jordan with 101 nationals on board.
Italy and Spain to have airlifted many nationals under the Spanish mission which included netizens from Argentina, Columbia, Ireland, Portugal, Poland, Mexico, Venezuela, and Sudan
Canada’s Prime Minister had also lately updated that the diplomatic staff has been successfully evacuated from the region.
Turkey – a lead to Sudan has been in a process of evacuating the nationals by road as flights were postponed after a nearby explosion.
South African Diplomat has shown concern that the ongoing fight is risky and dangerous for the evacuation process. He also adds that the airports are closed and the fighting continues. In such a scenario it is important to call for a cease-fire to provide safer passage to those who are in need and stuck in red zones for Humanitarian Aid.
There have been constant desperate calls from foreign students belonging to Asia, Africa, and the Middle East who are stuck in Khartoum.
The Power Struggle is becoming day by day a matter of concern that needs to be addressed as soon as possible because the capital city Khartoum is suffering from heavy bombardment killing thousands in the region with electricity cuts and shortages of food and water supplies.
The UN has also warned about 20,000 women and children from Sudan fleeing to Chad safely from the border of Darfur
