Pakistan’s former Prime Minister Imran Khan was taken into custody under Anti-Terrorism charges, on August 22, Khan’s(PTI) Pakistan Tehreek-e-insaf party have a warning to the police post-arrest. Many of the PTI leaders and members gathered before Khan’s residence to protest against their arrest and to show solidarity.
On August 20, Imran Khan participated in a rally, while addressing the gathering, he threatened a women magistrate and top police officials that he will file a case against them which is linked with the arrest of Shahbaz Gill, who was arrested last week on charges of sedition.
After Khan threatened state institutions in the rally, Pakistan eclectic Media stopped telecasting his speech on the local channel. They have banned the broadcasting of live speech of the prime minister. On Saturday PEMRA (The Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority) said that there is a technical issue and that they have implemented a time delay mechanism to stop the broadcast of news.
The Authority also added his speech is against Article 19, and it is a violation of Article 19 of the condition and also against the media’s codes of conduct.
“This is all happening in the continuation-from a campaign after Lasbela incident when did army officer were killed followed by Gills attempt to incisor army ranks to go against their top command and then Khan threatening a woman magistrate and top official who are performing their duties as per law,” the mister said.
Immediately after he addressed the gathering, by giving a speech that violated the Rules of Article 19. The Pakistan Tehreek e-Insaf(PTI) chairman was booked under the Anti-Terrorism Act ATA. An FIR had been filed against him under section 7ATA for challenging Judicial and law enforcement authorities
Some of the reports say that Khan’s speech threatened the whole Nation, officials and Judges. Senior PTI leader Fawad Chaudhry said that PTI leaders showed their strength outside Bani Gala and purposely sent them to the residents. They wanted to come to BaniGala.
Following this, PTI leader Ali Amin Gandapur warned the Shehbaz Sharif government and urged the officials to not be “part of political war anyways”.
On the other side a defiant Khan was arrested at another rally held at Rawalpindils Liaquant Bagh ground here he said the government have banned YouTube in the country on Sunday to prevent people from hearing a line telecast of a speech he gave at a political rally.
