Deepika Padukone, on her birthday, has treated fans to a glimpse of her character Alisha from her upcoming film, Gehraiyaan, in new posters. Deepika also recently shared posters featuring Ananya Panday, Siddhant Chaturvedi, and the movie’s recent release date on her Instagram page. The complex relationship drama was supposed to release on Amazon Prime Video on January 25, 2022, where the actress will be seen in a never-seen-before avatar. However, Gehraiyaan will now release on February 11 this year.
On wednesday, Filmmaker Karan Johar announced the release date of Gehraiyaan has changed from January 25 to February 11. He wrote that We can see the shore, till then we’ll dive into your love! “#GehraiyaanOnPrime releases February 11,” on his Instagram account, sharing posters of the film.
THE FILM
The film was directed by Shakun Batra, who has also made movies like Kapoor & Sons; Ek main aur Ek tu; Jaane tu ya Jaane na earlier, backed by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and Viacom18 Studios, which includes Johar’s directorial venture Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani starring Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, Shabana Azmi, Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt; Raj Mehta-directed Jug Jugg Jeeyo starring Anil Kapoor, Neetu Singh Kapoor, Varun Dhawan and Kiara Advani; and Shashank Khaitan’s Govinda Naam Mera featuring Vicky Kaushal, Kiara Advani and Bhumi Pednekar. The film also stars Dhairya Karwa, Naseeruddin Shah and Rajat Kapur in essential roles.
Deepika Padukone shared several shots from the film last month on Instagram and said that it has been a bit of a wait. But sometimes, the longer we wait for something, the more we appreciate it when it finally arrives. She showed her gratitude and said she cannot wait to share their labour of love with all of us.
