Udhhav Thackeray on new guidelines
On this date, Shiv Sena leader Udhhav Thackeray slammed the central government for sending a letter to Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo yatra. The government of India and health minister Mansukh Mandaviya issued some guidelines regarding the precautions to be taken due to the re-spreading of covid 19 sub-variant BF7. They are on an urge to the citizens who are a part of this campaign to strictly follow covid protocols or to stop this Yatra.
Health minister Mansukh Mandaviya’s letter
Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra has completed 100 days, and on the 24th of December, it will reach Delhi. The health minister has written a letter to Rahul Gandhi and the Chief Minister of Rajasthan where currently the campaign has reached; that to stop on foot march if the disease’s protocols are not being followed. He further added that only those who are fully vaccinated should be allowed along with masks and sanitizer. If following COVID protocol is not possible then the Bharat Jodo Yatra is postponed in the national interest, taking note of the public health emergency,” the letter further stated.
Ashok Gehlot back fires center on the letter issued with covid guidelines
It is being said by Rajasthan’s Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot that announcing the spread of COVID is just propaganda by the BJP to stop this Bharat Jodo campaign, as BJP leaders are alerted by this move. He also said that “Lakhs of people are joining the yatra. The central government is so scared that Union ministers are writing such letters. Our yatra is going on and will further continue ahead.”
The letter created a heavy backlash from the Congress Party, with Rajasthan’s Chief Minister Gehlot; claiming that the letter was written because the Modi government got alarmed by the huge turnout in the Bharat Jodo. He also clearly stated that the BJP’s aim is to disturb the yatra. He further added that the PM was in Tripura two days ago where no protocol was followed.
The letter over protocols by the center gets slammed by other congress leaders
MP Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury asked Bharatiya Janta Party saying, “I want to ask BJP, did PM Modi follow Covid protocols during Gujarat Polls? I think Mansukh Mandaviya does not like Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra but people are actually liking it and joining it.
Mandaviya has been deputed to divert the public’s attention.”Congress MP Karti Chidambaram says, “I haven’t seen the letter but what are the COVID protocols today? We don’t seem to be having any enforceable COVID protocols in any other public gatherings. Why this sudden attention to Bharat Jodo Yatra if not that it is rankling the BJP?”
Chhattisgarh CM slams center over the covid letter
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel slams the Central government on the Health Minister’s letter and says that the BJP is looking for reasons to stop the Yatra. He further added that “BJP is looking for new ways to stop this campaign. If COVID spreads in the country, Yatra will be impacted, but if it is not the case now, why are they looking for new excuses? When there was Corona, BJP held elections in West Bengal, Assam, and Uttar Pradesh.
Now you’re making excuses to stop Yatra.”During the COVID-19 pandemic, elections were conducted in Bengal, Assam, and Uttar Pradesh. Then there was no issue. He urged people to follow COVID-appropriate behavior and get vaccinated against COVID-19.
