On Wednesday, a 42-year-old man was playing aarti at the media maa temple near his house along with his brother and suddenly one villager approached them and asked why are they playing aarti on the loudspeaker, the man politely replied that they are playing aarti that’s why the villager started abusing them and soon after he called his friends and started beating them with sticks.
The name 42-year-old man who was killed in this fight was Jashwantji Thakor, he was a daily wager and he was singing aarti with his elder brother Ajit. The villager Sadaji came and started abusing them and as the fight escalated, he called his aides and the other five villagers came running towards the temple and started beating them with sticks, as soon as the villagers started hitting these two, their 10-year-old nephew ran home and told his mother, and then his mother informed the police.
Jashwantji’s elder brother Ajit filed the FIR against the murderers Sadaji Thakor, Vishnuji Thakor, Babuji Thakor, Javanji Thakor, and Vishnuji Thakor. This type of incident happened for the second time in a week in Gujarat. On may 2nd, a 30-year-old from Ahmedabad district was also assaulted for playing loudspeaker inside the temple. However, in this case, the victim and accused belonged to different Hindu communities.
