BJP Yuva Morcha leader found dead in his room. The man, identified as Krishna Jadav, was the district general secretary in Hathras of the Yuva Morcha of the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP).
The event took place on Sunday in the Sikandrau assembly of the Hathras district, on the day of the third phase of the assembly polls.
Jadav was shot dead on the second floor of his residence. A pistol and empty cartilage were recovered from Jadav’s room.
The Superintendent of Police, Hathras, Vineet Jaiswal, said in an interview with a news portal said that the police have received information of a person named Krishna Yadav being shot with a bullet. After reaching the spot, they found bloodstains in his room and recovered a pistol and an empty cartridge.
The injured was taken to Aligarh hospital in critical condition, where he was declared dead upon arrival. According to Hathras SP Vineet Jaiswal, police are probing into the matter, and a post mortem will also be conducted.
Following the incident, a massive crowd of people had gathered at the spot, mourning the death of the Youth leader.
The third phase in which the election was being conducted was in Hathras, Firozabad, Kasganj, Etah, Mainpuri, Farrukhabad, Kannauj, Etawah, Auraiya, Kanpur Dehat, Kanpur Nagar, Jalaun, Jhansi, Lalitpur, Hamirpur, Mahoba districts.
The UP election is conducted in seven phases. In the other phases, the election will conduct on the 23rd, the 27th of February, and the 3rd and the 7th of march.
Votes will be counting on the 10th of march.
