On 10 February, the Ministry of Health issued revised guidelines for international passengers arriving in India from 14 February 2022.
Due to the COVID-19 crises, the international boundaries of countries are at high risk. The Central government recommended 14 days of self-monitoring post-arrival against seven days home quarantine; before this, it was compulsory.
On Thursday, the Ministry of Health issued a statement, “Apart from uploading negative RT-PCR report (taken 72 hrs before journey). The other option is to upload the certificate of completing full primary vaccination schedule of COVID-19 vaccination provided from countries on a corresponding basis”.
Further, the statement clarified that “Before arrival, all travelers will self-monitor their health for the next 14 days of appearance. Suppose travelers under self-health monitoring develop signs and symptoms suggestive of COVID19.
In that case, they will immediately self-isolate and report to their nearest health facility or call National helpline number (1075) or State Helpline Number.” Prior, it was mentioned in the guidelines that, even if the report of the international passengers is negative.
They will additionally self-monitor their health for the next seven days to ensure everyone’s safety.

- Provide complete and factual information in self-declaration form on the online Air Suvidha portal. Before the scheduled travel, including the last 14 days’ travel details.
- Sync a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR report (The test should have been conducted within 72 hours before undertaking the journey), or
- Certificate of completing full primary vaccination schedule of COVID-19 vaccination
Each passenger should also submit a declaration concerning the report’s authenticity and be liable for criminal prosecution if found otherwise. They should also provide an undertaking on the portal or otherwise to the Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India.
By the concerned airlines, prior they are allowed to undertake the journey that they would abide by the decision of the relevant government authority any post-arrival requirement to undergo home/institutional quarantine/ self-health monitoring, as warranted.
