Hollywood celebrities are climate criminals as per the Yard report.
According to new research by a UK-based sustainability marketing firm named Yard Hollywood celebrities who own private jets have been ranked on the basis of their travel the most and contributed to the maximum carbon emissions.
In this research or list of Hollywood celebrities, the celebrities who own private jets and do not take care of the climate while producing carbon from it and polluting nature. In this list are Taylor Swift, Floyd Mayweather, Jay-Z, Alex Rodriguez, Blake Shelton, Steven Spielberg, Kim Kardashian, Mark Wahlberg, Oprah Winfrey, and Travis Scott.
Taylor Swift is at the top of the list while Floyd Mayweather and Jay-Z are in the top three and the rest of the others are also a part of this list. This year the average celebrity has created 3376.64 of CO2 emissions. To put that into perspective that is over 482.37 times more than the average person who has the average of just seven months in a year flying commercially. The list is from bottom to top.
Travis Scott’s CO2 flight emission this year is 3033.3 tonnes. Recently Kylie Jenner was a topic of discussion on using the private jet and shared a post. In the post, she was standing in front of two private jets . Kylie’s average flight time is apparently a mere 24.5 minutes and she is not on the list of top 10 but her husband is in the list.
Travis uses the private jet more and his total flight time for 2022 is already 8,384 minutes or 5.8 days on his private jet and we’re only seven months into the year. His average flight journey is only 7.31 miles which is only a 10 minutes car ride.
Oprah Winfrey has 3493.17 tonnes of CO2 flight emissions this year. This year the American presenter Oprah has already taken 68 flights on her 75 million dollars private jet which creates 3493 tonnes of carbon which is 499 times more than the average person. Oprah’s shortest flight time of this year was 14 minutes which alone created CO2 emissions.
Mark Wahlberg recorded 3772.85 tonnes of carbon emissions this year over 101 flights. His total flight time is 10,428 minutes, which means he spent over a week in the air. Mark also shared a picture of him with his friends having a tequila of his own brand on the flight.
Kim Kardashian 4268.5 tonnes of carbon emissions. Recently on her daughter North’s birthday, the jet was decorated as a camp theme. Over 57 flights 4268.5 tonnes of carbon is done which is 609.8 times more than an average person. Her average flight time is 85.49 minutes. Her shortest journey was 99.78 miles, around 23 minutes within California.
Steven Spielberg’s 4465 tonnes of carbon emissions over 61 flights this year. His longest average flight time was one hour and 47 minutes. The total time he spent on his private jet is 12,341 minutes, almost nine days in the air.
Hollywood Blake Shelton, an American country music singer, has 4495 tonnes of carbon emissions this year. This year he spent 12,424 minutes in the air on 111 flights.
A-Rod, an American household name and J-LO’s ex, basketball player A-Rod has taken 106 flights in his private jet. Average of 80 minutes per flight A-Rod created 5,342 tonnes of carbon emissions in this year.
Jay-Z is Beyonce’s better half who created 6,981.3 tonnes of carbon emissions this year. Jay-Z took 136 flights in a private jet, spending almost two weeks in the air which is 997.3 times more than the average person. He has the third spot on the list.
Boxer Floyd Mayweather has 7076.8 tonnes of carbon emissions this year. He has the second spot on the list. He took 177 flights which are 25 flights on average in a month.
Taylor Swift is on the top of the list by having 8293.54 tonnes of carbon emissions this year. Total 173 flights with 22,923 minutes in the air, which is almost 15.9 days. Her average flight time is 80 minutes which is around 139.36 miles per flight.
All of these are making things in wrong way for nature. It can be said that luxury is more important than nature for the people in this era.
