The season finale of house of the dragon tipped over as unbearable, from the sheer violence of dragon fights to bloody-graphic childbirth; revisiting and echoing much Game of Thrones dialogues and references.
This recap contains a few details for anyone who has not yet seen House of the Dragon.
Written Updates of House of the Dragon
There is an episode every season that turns out to be the turning point in the story. Episode 10 serves its purpose in all respects, revealing the actual ‘Dance of the Dragons.’
“The Greens are coming for you, Rhaenyra. And for your children”: its wartime in Dragon-town and more blood will be shed.
The crown has been usurped by Alicient Hightower’s terrible wretch of a son, and Daemon wishes to spike all enemies’ heads. That’s normal Daemon style, but Rhaenyra isn’t having it. She does not wish to reign over ashes, as she puts it, causing a momentary schism between her and Daemon. However, when the events of the finale spin out of control like the dragons, she may just channel Daenrys.
Another pretty vivid childbirth scene, a coronation, and a totally unexpected heart attack. The season’s finale is in itself a roller coaster ride, beginning with the death of King Viserys, setting the stage for the much more familiar (Game of Thrones-like) plotting and gathering allies. The Baratheons, Starks, and treacherous Lannisters are finally coming toward center stage.
There were several profoundly memorable moments riddled throughout the episode, such as Rhaenyra and Daemon’s experiences with their stillborn child, Rhaenyra being throned queen, Aemond hunting down Lucerys through the storm on a mad dragon, and the episode’s final moments, when Rhaenyra learns that she has paid a bloody price for politics, having lost someone too dear to her. The dragon dance will commence. The rage on her face is evident, and the fact that her communication with Daemon is not audible adds to the chills of the picture.
The House of the Dragons has ultimately made its mark on the viewers. At last, the season’s finale displayed promising prospects for the storyline and the future of the franchise. The audience has finally caught on to the subtle mysterious tone and the much fancier High-Valyrian and looks forward to more dragons and greater wars in Season 2.
