Chief Editor of “Global Times” warns the U.S might experience another terror attack.
The Prediction:
Hu Xijin, the editor-in-chief of “Global Times”, predicted a terrorist attack similar to the onslaught of September 11, 2001.
He tweeted that the September 11 attacks were merely the suicide attacks by 19 terrorists, but it does not mean the ‘suicide attack’ of the terrorism itself.
Terrorism will gather power to launch the next deadly attack. Time will prove that the U.S. made a mistake to regard China as its most prominent adversary.
“Global Times” is the state-owned tabloid under the auspices of the “People’s Daily”: Chinese Communist’s Party official newspaper.
The twin tower attack of 9/11:
Al-Qaida targeted the twin buildings of the World Trade Center in New York and the Pentagon in a sequence of four terrorist assaults that shocked the United States to its core.
Almost 3,000 people were killed, including over 2,600 died at the World Trade Center, 125 died at the Pentagon, and 265 were killed aboard the four planes. Over 6,000 people were hurt.
The New York City Fire Department lost 343 firemen, about half of the total number of on-duty deaths in the department’s history of 100 years.
At least one firefighter was killed in 75 different firehouses. The New York City Fire Department (FDNY) also lost its first deputy commissioner, department chief, and senior administrative personnel.
When Battalion 1’s battalion chief saw the plane crash into the World Trade Center’s North Tower, he immediately radioed a multiple alarm event.
One hundred twenty-one engine companies, 62 ladder companies, and 27 fire officers were dispatched to the area during the following three hours. This attack claimed 3000 lives.
Patriot day:
On September 10, U.S. President Joe Biden declared September 11 to be Patriot and National Day of Service and Remembrance, noting that all government institutions should fly the U.S. flag at half-staff on this day.
Current China-US relations
It is important to note that China-United States relations have deteriorated to the point where U.S. partners have imposed sanctions on Beijing to suppress Muslim Uyghurs in Xinjiang’s northern, western area.
Defining Terrorism:
In the meantime, China has used the anniversary to refute the narrative surrounding Beijing’s suppression of Muslim Uyghurs in Xinjiang’s northwestern region.
On Friday, Zhao Lijian, a spokesperson for China’s Foreign Ministry, encouraged the United States to cease designating terrorists based on their ideology and “political self-interest.”
Zhao Lijian stated: “Terrorists are terrorists, and terrorists are terrorists. Terrorists are defined based on political self-interest, thereby endorsing terrorist acts and jeopardizing international counter-terrorism cooperation “.
Uyghur Muslims in Xinjiang:
New allegations claim that Chinese authorities are racially profiling minority groups to establish a massive DNA database amid rising accusations of large-scale human rights breaches and persecution of Uyghurs by China.
China has been chastised for repressing Uyghur Muslims in the Xinjiang region. According to multiple accounts, Beijing detains ethnic minorities in huge detention camps and interferes with their religious practices.
Furthermore, they are subjected to mistreatment, including forced labour. Despite accumulating evidence, Beijing has strenuously denied any human rights violations against Uyghurs in Xinjiang.
