Sir Ian McKellen has clarified the situation following an internet photo that led followers to believe he was in Lviv, Ukraine. As Russia invades, he has stated that he has not visited the nation and would not visit. Viv has come under attack in recent weeks by Vladimir Putin’s troops.
At least seven people were killed earlier this month in a Russian missile attack on the western city. Recently, a photo leaked on social media, leading fans to believe McKellen had travelled to Lviv, Ukraine, where Angelina Jolie was sighted.
I have not visited Lviv or anywhere else in Ukraine, despite reports and alleged images circulating online, “the actor declared on Twitter.
The suspicions began when Maksym Bespalov tweeted a photograph of himself with the Lord of the Rings legend, with the location labelled as Ukraine — but there was more to it than meets the eye.Baspalov revealed that the shot was taken in November 2021 in London after it became viral on social media.
He later responded to the actor’s tweet, writing, “It was a joke I made on Facebook, sorry.” I also wrote about Bruce Lee, but the media focused only on your story. He later invited the actor to visit the country, explaining, “I am the photographer.” Please, Sir McKellen, visit Ukraine.
It would be extremely motivating for us! That clarifies things – but it appears that some fans still enjoy the prospect of Sir Ian visiting the country, with some followers citing his Lord of the Rings character Gandalf in their responses.
“Well, it was a pleasant narrative for the time being…” one wrote.
The prospect of Gandalf in Lviv was really encouraging.’ “I have to admit that it would be rather awesome to watch Gandalf put an end to this fight,” another said.
And another enthusiast remarked: ‘Perhaps one of these photographs shows you standing on a bridge shouting
