Security Women, United Kingdom; Department of International Relations; Central University of Jharkhand, India; Department of Defence & Strategic Studies, Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla, India and Department of International Relations, University of Chittagong, Bangladesh is going to organise a three-day international Conference on Human Security and Governance between 23-25 February, 2022 [10.00 am – 8.00 pm IST].

The International Conference 2022 on Human security (IIHSG) commenced from 1:15 pm on Wednesday. It took place in 4 technical sessions, with the 1st one from 1:15 pm to 4:00 pm, the 2nd between 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm, the 3rd session between 5:30 pm and 7:30 pm and the last between 7:30 pm to 8:45 pm. It is expected to occur from 23 to 25 February between 10:00 am and 8:00 pm.
Dr. Nandini Vashishta has moderated the Interdisciplinary Institute of Human Security and Governance (IIHSG) sessions, Delhi.
Technical Session 1
Session 1 of the International Conference started with the theme ”Different Dimensions of Human Security. Dr. Bibhuti Bhusan Biswas, professor at the Central University of Jharkhand, chaired the session with co-chairperson Dr. Anju Gupta, Head of Political Science Department, JECRC University, Jaipur.
The session started with the welcome of chairpersons by Dr. Nandini, who thanked all the conference collaborators. Fourteen presenters presented their papers in the session with 1st paper by Sakshi Rathi, a Research Scholar, on the topic ”A Study of Human Rights of Transgender.” In the presentation, she discussed LGBTQ+ rights and policies and mechanisms to be developed by the Government to provide them a life of dignity.
Subsequently, Dr. Sunita Bhola presented a paper on Human Security and Religion- A case of Kashmiri Pandits; Dr. Rajshree Dutta on ”Human Rights are an inherent part of Human Security” and Dr. Angila Sen Sharma on ”Understanding Development through Human Security”. In her paper, Dr. Sen discussed the evolution of the concept of development and the Human Development Paradigm.
After them, Dr. Devinder Kaur presented her paper on ”Social Inclusive Policies in India’India’; Mr. Subhash Kumar Betha on ”Challenges of Human Security in Mongolia”. Then Dr. Gyana Ranjan Panda presented his paper on the topic ”Data-Driven Policy-Making and Digital Governance for enhancing Human security in India”. He talked about the multidimensionality of Human security and the Cradle to Grave theory of maintaining digital data of everyone’s life.
Dr. Suman Maurya presented a paper about Gender studies and the need for gender inclusion. After her, Ashok Sharma, a Research Scholar from Bodoland University, Assam, talked about ”The Dearth of Tribal Land Security”, primarily focusing on the Bodo tribe of the Northeast. The chairpersons praised his paper for extensive primary research and survey with a large sample size in Bodoland Autonomous Region.
Other papers presented in 1st session included ”Empowering the Transgender people in Post-Independent India” by Subhosandhya Sahu; ”Function of Bengal Press at the time of Non-Cooperation Movement, Civil Disobedience Movement and the Quit India Movement by Md. Yousuf; ”Human Security Cries in Afghanistan: Role of International Community by Aman Raj.
”Human Security of the Hindu Minorities in Bangladesh under the Last Regime of Sheikh Hasina (2019-till date)” by Sukhdev Das and ”The impact of National-Social Assistance on the poor elderly in Tripura by Sharmistha Rakshit.”
The session ended with feedback from the chairpersons. Dr. Nandini thanked them for facilitating the session smoothly.
Technical Session 2
The second session of the IIHSG conference begins at 4:00 PM with the chairperson being Dr. Biswajeet Mohapatra, professor of politics and International Relations at North-Eastern Hill University, and Dr. Raymond Kwun-Sun Lau, Assistant professor at a University of Chittagong, Bangladesh, as co-chairperson.
The session’s theme was ‘Human Security: Health and Governance.’ The chairpersons pointed out the situation of healthcare in India and wished good luck to all the presenters.
The session began with the paper of Dr. Sudhira Jena, ‘Health crisis: A man-made Hazard,’ in which he discussed how health security is an inseparable part of human security.
‘The Echo Chamber of Covid Threat: Impact of Covid-19 on Mental Health’ by Kumari Priyanka found the re-imagination of life and the boons and banes of global connectivity.
Other papers presented in the session were: ‘Academic Stress, Emotional Intelligence, and Mental Health in Medical and Engineering Students’ by Basit Qureshi; ‘Interpretation of Human Rights Laws in the Post-Truth World’ by Harikrishnan RS.
‘Mental Health Security and Government Policy for the elderly section of India’ by Dr. Rajkumari Meena; ‘The Semantics of Religious Minorities in Indian Politics and it’s implications in Social Justice’ by Unmul Baneen Haider and ‘Right to Health with special reference to Tribals- A Case study on Vishaka Special Area’ by N. Roja Rani.
Technical Session 3
The third session started at 5:30 PM with ‘Governance, Education, and Human Security.’ Dr. Gauri Shankar Nag, Head of Political Science Department at Birsa University, chaired the session and was co-chaired by Dr. Amrita Banerji, Assistant professor, Bidhan Chandra College, Asansol.
Dr. Anthony G. Puramas was the first to present his paper on Governance Practices of Supreme Student Government (SSG) in the public secondary schools in Region-III: A Paradigm Shift of 21st Century Leaders”. After him, Dr. Joey F. Ramos, with his co-authors Dr. Paulo V. Cenas and Dr. Gilbert P.
Moralista on “Procurement Practices among SUCs in Region I, Philippines: Basis for a proposed Innovative Procurement Process,” presented his paper.
In the session, Dr. Amartya Saha presented his paper, “ Cybersecurity Awareness of Students in Higher Education: A Case study of Nupur College”; Dr. Ruchi Jain with co-author Jyoti Jain on “E-Governance and Education: A Systematic Literature Review”; Boby Narayan on “Good Governance through Skill development rate and its success rate with respect to Employment and Income Generation”; Renuka Shyam Narayan on “Interdisciplinary Approach in Field of Education”.
Zohaib Hassan Sain on “Challenges on Quality of Education in Higher Education Institutes of Pakistan” and Aanchal Seth on Politicization of Education: A Neo-Governance approach degrading Education.”
Last Technical Session of the day
The last session of Day 1 was on the “Human Security and Governance” theme. This session was for Paper presenters in the Hindi language. The panelists were Dr. Sitaram Chaidhary, Assistant professor of Pol. Science and Dr. Shobha Singh, Assistant Professor of History at Government College, Kishangarh, Rajasthan.
Papers presented in the last session were “Covid-19 and its implications on education: Online Education” by Dr. Pradeep Kasotiya; “Slave Labour: Awareness and Eradication” by Dr. Chandraprabha Pareek; “Role of Police in SC/ST Rights” By Seema Chaudhary; Role of Administration in Protecting Kishangarh Art” by Mahesh Kumawat.
“Women security: Government and Society” by Dr. Maina Nirvan; Human Rights and Identity of Women in Indian Politics” by Dr. Seema Das; “State and Human Security” by Dr. Archana Singh; “Human Security:An International Aspect” by Jitendra Bharti; and “Human Security and Good Governance” by Ishwar Chandra Sharma.
The session ended at 8:45 PM with a positive note from chairpersons and the organizers to the presenters. The remaining research papers will be presented tomorrow from 10:00 AM onwards.
