The previous Prime Minister, Imran Khan, on Monday, got a short break in the form of a transit bail for three days until August 25 in a terrorism case, hours after his party had moved the Islamabad High Court looking for a pre-arrest bail, regional media reports said.
The nation’s media surveillants, i.e. the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority, had also prohibited TV channels from reporting his live speeches.
The FIR against Imran Khan was filed at Islamabad’s Margalla police station at 10 p.m. on Saturday underthe accusation of magistrate Ali Javed, reported Dawn. The FIR claimed that Imran Khan’s speech hadterrorised and pressurised top police officers and an honourable female additional session judge.
Imran Khan’s lawyers, Babar Awan and Faisal Chaudhry registered a plea seeking his pre-arrest bail on Sunday.
Imran Khan’s Lawyers Claims
In the plea, they claimed that “the previous Pakistani Prime Minister was a victim of the governing PakistanDemocratic Movement for his brave criticism and highly bold and blunt attitude against corruption and corrupt politicians,” according to the Dawn report, which quoted the plea.
Additionally, they claimed that a false and foolish complaint had been filed against to accomplish a nastyagenda. It also claimed that the current governing party had chosen to cross all limits to arrest Imran Khan on false allegations.
According to the FIR, the major objective of terrorism was to stop the police officials and judiciary from performing their legal duties.
In the meantime, according to reports, Pakistan’s interior ministry had demanded written approval from thenation’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s office to arrest the PTI Chairman following the filing of cases.
